The case for Hillary Clinton 2020

Hillary is washed up ! She was passing out in the last election and had to wear her glasses that wore when she a concussion b/c her had double vision . She was in poor health during the election and by 2020 she going to be a damn mess ! She is the last person I want to run and I sure don’t Elizabeth Warren running either ! We need some new blood, I am not going to vote for a candidate just b/c it a woman like me ! For the live of me I can’t understand why people want Hillary running against trump again after she been whining how trump made feel during debates ! If she hated it so much why the fuck didn’t she speak up then that is a sign of weaken to me.

I don’t have any particular insight into the inner workings of the Clinton Machine, but if I had to pick one, I suspect that the former is a good bit more likely than the latter. I think the aftermath of the 2016 election has shown HRC to not be a particularly astute or savvy politician.

I want to see a candidate with no more than three toes hanging over the edge of the grave.

Hillary Clinton is the one person who has proven her ability to lose an election to Donald Trump. That doesn’t sound like the ideal candidate to run against Donald Trump.

Exactly, stick a fork in her, wave her goodbye. About this subject, though, what are the chances the name Donald Trump will appear on the ballot in 2020?

You forget that Bernie Sanders had done nothing to antagonize Vladimir Putin the way Hillary Clinton had done. Putin was not so much pro-Trump as anti-Hillary.

This is just an article by someone who is having trouble letting go, at worst. More than likely, it’s someone who had a deadline and couldn’t think of anything more interesting to write so they phoned it in. It might even be something that was meant to be submitted to The Onion rather than Salon.

But whatever it is, I’m pretty sure HRC had nothing to do with this, nor would she think - despite her questionable political judgement - that this benefits her in any way.

There’s a reason she’s not President now - she would be a total fucking disaster. But if you guys want to trot her out in 2020 and guarantee Trump’s re-election, by all means, please do so.

It’s an utter mystery to me why we keep hearing about how smart and capable Hillary Clinton is and what a ‘fine’ president she would make. She has shown time and time again that she has terrible judgement and lousy instincts, is mistake and gaffe prone, is an unknown quantity by being quick to jump on whatever bandwagon she thinks is politically expedient at the moment, and is one of the most blatantly crooked and lying politicians ever…second perhaps only to her husband (yeah, yeah, Trump. What about the last thirty years?). Then look at the way she’s conducting her post-campaign campaign, blaming anything and everyone but herself for her loss and tell me that there’s anything remotely smart in any of it. Hillary Clinton clearly couldn’t analyze herself out of a paper bag and yet we’re supposed to think she’s all that intellectually and capable of dealing with Congress and coping with foreign conundrums. Again, it’s a mystery, and one I’ll never understand.

Washed up, indeed! The Damage is Done. Double Vision? Yeah, That Was Yesterday. Woman, Say You Will run and it will make people Hot Blooded. Someone needs to Break It Up. She’s Cold As Ice and A long, long way from home, and it wouldn’t Feel Like the First Time. Urgent the Head Games must stop! Hillary, we’re tired of Waiting on a Girl like you. Besides, another Dirty White Boy will beat you anyway. You’ll never be a Juke Box Hero. Woman, Oh Woman, I Need You to quit being At War with the World and go Back Where You Belong.

I have waited so long, Counting Every Minute to hear you, Out of The Blue, to Say You Will quit Living in a Dream, Ready to Give Me A Sign that It’s Too Late.

But Do What You Like.

True; Putin doesn’t appear to have a hate-on for anyone in the west that compares to his feelings about Hillary Clinton.

But apparently there’s still a feeling in the general direction of the authoritarian-right-as-it-intersects-with-the-authoritarian-Russian, that Hillary Must Be Destroyed. We see a certain nutty strain in the diatribes against her in this very thread, that bespeaks anxiety about her potential return.

I don’t think she’s going to return, or not to an attempt to get the Dem nomination, anyway. But that won’t stop the trolls from feeling that they still have work to do.

I’m sick of how much influence foreigners had over this election :frowning:

This. One one hundredth of the problems with her are actually real. But, I still would only vote for her as a vote against the alternative.

The main thing that prevents me from holding Trump voters in contempt is reminding myself that Hillary was the alternative. Sure, I thought she was the lesser evil, but I can’t bring myself to blame some people for thinking otherwise.

She was uninspiring in 2016. In 2020 she would bring The Stink of Failure to the table. She had her shot (s), and now it is time for her to step aside. Which, honestly, I think she has already done.

I stopped reading the article after it compared Putin to Hitler. Since, in doing do, the author shows both as astounding ignorance of history AND such a hopeless and absurd bias that any opinion he may have as to what constitutes a good POTUS is totally worthless.

BTW: I don’t want anybody for POTUS who could not even defeat a Donald Trump. LOL

Most of those are lies thought up by the Kremlin and Rove. Got a cite?

Like Bernie? :dubious:

Trump is his buddy.

I think either Sanders or Clinton would have faced political paralysis in dealing with an obstructionist Republican party. The one thing that has united the GOP over the years is their opposition to liberals; now that they’re in power, we’re starting to see some fraying threads within the party.

I’m increasingly of the opinion that could be entering an era of major political disruption and realignment. The establishments of both parties are increasingly powerless and the ideologues in both parties have greater visibility and they are now forces to be reckoned with. And yet, neither the left nor the right have broad appeal across the population.

After 2016, I don’t know if a candidate’s negatives are that important.
