The Case of the Missing MMP

swampy: You Win. Last fall, I was moving the sprinkler in the yard and it slipped in my hand, totally soaking me JUST at the exact moment one of my buses went driving down the street.

And making the boss the laughingstock of the place as soon as she got back and told everybody what she saw.

Watching the boss make a fool of himself… priceless!

I like the canned stuff, too, but the chunky kind, not the blob of gel. My mom used to warm it up in a double boiler and add the orange and raisins to that

I do love the canned cranberry sauce. At thanksgiving I always make the stupid joke that it’s hand-carved. It’s hard work to make those ridges, you know.

Tonight I made corn bread & cuban-style red beans and rice. More carbs in one meal than I’ve had in a while, but it was suggested by Cooking Light as a combo.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!

HEATHENS!!!
Canned cranberry sauce is ICKKKKK. It takes about 60 seconds to make cranberry sauce without any additions (well, longer to cook it, but you don’t actually have to pay much attention while it’s doing that). With the stuff I add, it takes maybe 5 minutes to put together…

Mowed in front, planted several new plants, planted lettuce and radishes, took a shower, went to church, talked to Mom, going to bed now…

I am a lazy schlub. I woke up at 10:30 this morning, waited for my Peapod delivery (Og bless them) then, after putting everything away, crawled back into bed. That was about 2pm. I didn’t think I’d actually sleep because my neighbor seemed to be setting up for a family barbeque, but there was not that much noise after that, so maybe he was only checking to make sure the grill actually worked before the season started. Anyway, the next thing i knew it was 6:30 (and I’ll tell you the bizarre dream I had in a bit) So I had dinner, and watch the VMars rerun, then finally sat down to do the PR work for the chorus I should have done last weekend
BTW dinner last night with friends turned out really fun - we met at 4:30 because Red Lobster tends to get ubercrowded after 6pm - and since we finished eating (and singing happy birthday) by 6:30, one of the couples invited us all back to their place where we played Apples to Apples and Taboo until 11pm. They have a big (24 pound) black and white kitty with little white paws who is apparently a big mush, and who was able to tell I’m a cat person and therefore did not leave me alone all night (especially after his mommy gave me the bag of treats to feed him) Also this kitty purrs so loudly, they call him Evenrude.
anyway - weird nap dream (and my nap dreams do tend to be ultra weird) for some reason I was visiting at the hospital where both my parents were laid up but on the mend (IRL, they’ve both been gone many years). After visiting with my dad a bit, I saw the doc attending my mom in the hall and I stopped him to ask how she was. He started to say something like, “weren’t you at the funeral? oh we forgot to tell you” and I went ballistic and started beating him up, at which point he turned into a very large cat, and my beating him up turned in the me giving a kitty-massage. But I was still yelling at him for being such a putz. Then we were about to move my dad to another room where he’d have a different roommate: my dad. Don’t ask. At that point I woke up and said to myself “WTF???”
Then I made dinner and watched my rerun.
In 15 minutes it’ll be Monday, so I’d better get to bed

awwwwwww big giant kitties!
I also think cranberry sauce is the pinnacle of disgusting. And if it must be eaten, it should be the sugared canned stuff. Cranberries are just WRONG.

I have no sprinkler stories, but I got caught in the rain in my costume tonight if that counts. Not funny, though… just wet.

Shows this weekend went well. No sour notes, no botched dances. They were fun in a nothing-special kind of way. We just sort of did our thing and didn’t bother anyone else. We do this show all the time, so it’s not a big deal. It was a theatrical-type event rather than a festival-type event, which takes away a bit of the fun. I like festival-type events because once you’re finished, if you hang around, the audience wants to talk to you and you can answer questions about the group and the show and sometimes sign autographs and take pictures with little kids and such. In a theatrical-type event, the audience expects to watch the show and then leave.
Also, I’m in trouble dance/weight-wise but that’s whiny livejournal stuff. I won’t bore you with it.

We’re not bored, we’re concerned and a little angry. What is going on? Why are you not taking care of yourself?
