The cat attached itself to me

Aww. He’s so happy to be with you and is telling you so.

And of course the color of the “chair” is appropriate

I like Velcro. Or if he stays talkative you could go with Mike(Microphone).

This +1.

He’s gorgeous! I love “Velcro”!

Double plus one. I love chatty cats!

What a cutie!

Gotta say, that’s a pretty handsome cat. And I’m not one of those people who says that about every cat ( every kitten maybe, kittens are virtually all cute - but not every cat ).

Hey there OP,

What a lovely thread. Thank you so much for telling us all about it. I am very happy for you and for him.

I once had a similar experience with a dog and she was just the best dog I ever knew. I drove into a donut shop one evening and she was roaming around the parking lot looking very scared and lonely - very extremely scared!

I called over to her and motioned for her to come see me. She jumped right into my car and she would not leave my side from that moment on. For the first few days I had her, she just got a grip on me - both physically and emotionally and she never, let go.

I never ever ever understood how it was that someone would abandon the greatest dog in the world. **I kid you not! **She was def the greatest dog in this world. Bar none! At least the greatest dog I ever met. She was just wonderful!

One day I’ll tell you the entire story. My friendship with her was def one of the happiest chapters in my life!

Name 'im Poops!

I’ve never owned a cat. But I thought all cats were toilet trained by their mothers and so toilet training cats is never an issue.

Is that not correct?

Human toilet.

Geez, what did **Charlie Wayne **do to deserve that?!

I can’t even top that w/ the truth. I’m still laughing.

He is so loud and insistent that he wants to Go Outside.

Do you think he’d be a good candidate for leash-walking? What a sweet boy.

possibly. I may give it a try later. He doesn’t tend to dash for the door, which is good, but reall wants to know what’s out there.

Uh-oh: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=19025175&postcount=8

When I read the OP, I was going to suggest VELCRO, seriously.

I had a cat that was joined at the hip with me, we named him Velcro.

Good Choice!

I followed the link - and it says they’re down for maintenance.

The page says “Hang in there!” - and shows a kitten, hanging onto the side of a bed or something by its front claws :D.

Clearly he had not been on his own long enough :D.

We adopted a cat from the shelter - a 2-3 year old with similar coloring (though w/o the white bits and with more distinctive tabby markings) and he was the second sweetest cat ever. I think he knew he had a good thing going when we brought him home, and had ZERO desire to make a bid for freedom.

His idiot adopted younger brother (a bit dim, but the sweetest cat ever, hence the other one being second sweetest), on the other hand… had been abandoned by a friend’s neighbors when they moved out of their house. Our friend was horrified, and made sure to feed him, but couldn’t give him a permanent home due to severe allergies, so she asked around and we volunteered to take him.

Having been on his own, but not suffering, he thought that OUTSIDE was a pretty nifty place to be - and made frequent bids for freedom when we were entering or exiting the house. Nearly made it a couple of times. I think getting his head caught in the door as we were closing it a) provided him negative reinforcement, and b) probably dimmed his bulb a bit further. He did quit making a run for it after a couple of months.
