The Celebrity Death Pool 2006

Thank you NurseCarmen, for starting the Lou Rawls bandwagon avalanche (in unison)

aww, shucks.

::::::::blows kisses to Nurse Carmen:::::::

I’ve never lost my Dead Pool Virginity so fast! It’s all because of YOU!

…And Generalissimo Fransisco Franco is *still * dead

:bowes head in sadness: :frowning:
:then in anger becauase Lou Rawls wasn’t on my list:

Rawls birth date was lised as 1935 in Wiki when I picked him. Now it’s 1993. In death, Lou has managed to cheat me out of two points.

So Lou was only twelve years old?

Seriously though, in mid-December the MSNBC site ran the weird story about Rawls’ rush attempt to annul his marriage before he died. I was waiting for the tidal wave after that. It took a few days though. I hadn’t realized that the Nurse’s inadvertent posting had touched off the avalanche.

IMDB has Rawls birthdate as 12/1/35.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Last year The Pope, this year Lou Rawls. Why do I insist on refusing to hop on bandwagons?! :wally :smack:

jeez you’re really rubbing this one in… :stuck_out_tongue: But it wasn’t exactly a secret that Lou Rawls was about to die. To get my list this year I just typed in “diagnosed with cancer” into google news and voila. There were about 500 Lou Rawls articles all with him basically saying “hey I’m not dead yet”. Last words if I ever heard any.

Australian actress Sophie Heathcoate has died of an aneurism at the age of 33.

Heck I am not a bandwagon “jumper” either.
Nor am I an SDMB death pool winner.

And talk about deaths “coming in three’s” - Lou Rawls, Sophie Heathcoate and now Barry Cowsill, bass player for the legendary musical family.

And you said, “Hold that thought to December 31, Lou, and you’re my man.”

Cowsill would have counted towards last year’s pool, considering all they found was a Barry Cowsill skeleton.

Besides, it’s looking like Ariel Sharon is going to be #3. He’s had three or four brain surgeries in the past week.

I went to my other message board again this morning. Got all excited when I saw someone had posted a thread RIP MCI.

I think over my picks, surely one of them has the initials MCI. Which one?? I can’t think of anyone who has the initials MCI. So I open the thread. Oh, no one died. :frowning: He really meant MCI, the company. Starting monday their new name is Verizon Business.

I was kind of bummed it wasn’t a person.

I am for sure going to hell.

I googled for some of the names on my list but I couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing about Lou Rawls. A few of my other picks came from the radio as well but none of them got as much coverage as Lou. I figured everyone would have him on their lists but based on all those stories I wasn’t really expecting him to make it to the new year.

Yes, there are periodic updates (as you’ve been told). But most of us, we make little tiny graveyards out of cardboard and dirt and put little tiny coffins in the graveyard with labels, so we can keep track ourselves.

Right? You guys all do that, too, doncha?
Hello?

I would like to add my voice to the groundswell of popular demand for JohnBckWLD’s statistics

This means Danny Bonaduce is now doomed. Art imitates life and all.
