The Celebrity Death Pool 2006

Why the snerk? He was a brilliant business man who figured out that America loves chicken wings…and owls.

And died at age <snerk> 69

And what does that have to do with owls :dubious: ?

Nobody picked Robert Brooks, Tommy Bruce, Christian Drake, John A. Rector, Jr., or Milan Williams.

I don’t have time now to post the updated scoreboard, but I will tomorrow. Let’s just say last year’s champion Rachm Qoch has slipped to sixth place…

Welcome to those just joining us, and as always – congratulations, scorers! A little more than half the year is behind us, with many more dead celebrities to come, no doubt…

Hmmm…so I slipped a couple of slots in the past few months, but not as badly as I thought I did. Still in the top 10, which was my main goal for this season.

Hey Rudy Tomjanovich or Donald Wildmon…wanna help a guy out here?

Not a single one of my celebrities has died this year, and I was so sure about a couple of them. Oh well, there’s over five months left yet.

I’m in the same boat, Baker! I’ve only actually had -one- celebrity death pick and that was Pope John Paul II.

I thought for sure that this year would be different … Zsa Zsa was hospitalized after Thanksgiving (and come on, she’s nearly 90! LOL), Elizabeth Taylor had been rumored to be bad off, and Keith Richard … well, he -did- fall out of that tree on Tahiti, but by OG, that dude must have made a deal with the Devil because even though they had to do brain surgery on him, he’s still alive! And Elizabeth Taylor had to go on Larry King Live (heh), so she’ll surely be around into 2007. And President Ford? Guess he’s taken many a lickin’ during his lifetime and he just keeps on ticking (he’ll be 93 later this month). Seems certain my picks will make it to next year, doesn’t it?!

I’m just throwing this out here now, but for those who are True Dead Pooler’s and you know who you are. :

How Many Do You Have On Your Initial 2007 DP List
Without showing my cards, I have at least 75.

Who will be chosen for the gift of life?

Decisions, decisions.

I’m telling you, Tarragon, Keith Richards will out live the Apoclypse!

I have only 19 at the moment.

I haven’t participated yet, but I plan to next year. I’ve only got about five picks so far.

Making your next year’s list is kinda like Christmas shopping. It seems to start earlier every year.

Like Batman, I like to be prepared. That way, when I uhhhh…review others lists there are no surprises.

Nineteen, not counting potential survivors of this year’s list.

No kidding. My list is like a life raft or something. Why can’t they all go down together in a tidal wave or something to catapult me to Everlasting Glory.

Is that too much to ask?

Win Rockefeller, the Arkansas lieutenant governor whose plans to be a gubernatorial candidate in 2006 were thwarted by a blood disorder, has died at the age of 57. Win was the son of former Arkansas governor Winthrop Rockefeller, as well as a great-grandson of Standard Oil founder John D. Rockefeller.

Nope, nobody picked any Rockefellers.

Jack Warden decided Heaven couldn’t Wait.
