The Celebrity Death Pool 2007

My reason to be hopeful, part 2.

Anyone care to join me in this handbasket?

“Gravely serious condition” now.
CNN Breaking News —> Televangelist Jerry Falwell is being given CPR after being found unconcious and taken to a Virginia hospital, Falwell assistant Ron Godwin says

(Yes, the misspelling is direct from the CNN ticker.)

And Drudge has nothing.

And VunderBob Scores – If the AP is correct.

Linky

27 point for moi…

Congrats to Vunderbob!
Can we get some kinda loonie-right trifecta into play?

It’s the lesbians fault that Falwell is not on my list.

Loonie-right? Well, Pat Roberson is still doing pretty well, so nothing doing there. Who else?

Also, 27 points from Falwell to me! And I don’t even feel that guilty.

And boy, is Falwell in for a surprise.

WOOT, WOOT…27 points for me.

I would still be excited even if The Rev. hadn’t been on my list. Is that wrong?

Nah, just loonie. I also have Calypso Louie Farrakhan for this year.

I got one! I finally got one! A death Pool virgin no more.

“Everyone who’s been preaching the Gospel for their entire life, take one step forward. Hey, hey, hey…not so fast, Mr. Moral Majority! Why don’t you step over here? We’d like you to get a quick earful of the actual word of God; I think you’ll be unpleasantly surprised at how it compares…”

Also soon to come, Larry Flynt issues a three-word press release. “I win again.”

Damn! Another short-lister missed. Oh well…anyway, I’ve got two on here that would make for a perfect loonie quadrafecta:

From the linked article (bolding mine):

Either the AP failed to update a verb tense, or Falwell is planning to follow the lead of North Korea’s Eternal President

I’m another who adds 27 points for Jerry’s death, and I also picked Oral Roberts, as well as Minister Farrakhan.

While driving my mom around town today, I noticed the flags were at half-mast. I wondered why, so came in here to see who recently died that might account for the flags.

Imagine my surprise to find one of my own picks listed!!

I also have a few more people on my list who consider themselves preachers of one type or another, so wouldn’t mind a preacher superfecta coming up.

Jerry Falwell, my first points of 2007!!

(still don’t know who the flags at half-mast were for, any ideas?)

Every soldier killed in Iraq here in Minnesota is given a day where flags are at half mast. Could be the case for you.

On April 17, President Bush ordered flags flown at half mast in memory of those killed in the VA Tech shootings. Don’t know for how long, but if it was thirty days, it would be until tomorrow.

Peace Officers memorial day. May 15 every year.

Good fucking riddance, Jerr.

Tonight’s top story, Jerry Falwell is still dead!
