The Celebrity Death Pool 2009

JP keeping quiet about the fact that he just scored 34 points. So did Sternvogel

Ernest Borgnine looked extremely well for 92 at the Screen Actors Guild last night. Suck it.

John Updike age 76.

Dante Lavelli, the wide receiver who was known as “Gluefingers” while starring with the Cleveland Browns in the 1940’s and '50’s, has died at the age of 85. I grew up in a suburb near Lavelli’s adopted home of Rocky River, and often rode by his appliance store, whose sign featured an image of a football player wearing Lavelli’s #86 jersey.

Per radio report, Billy Powell, keyboardist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, has joined the heavenly choir from a reported heart condition.

John Martyn, an all time favourite of mine for over 30 years.

:frowning:

But being …

Er, never mind.

Looks like I scored back on January 4th. Bill Grant.

Ingemar Johansson, former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion goes down for the count. 76 years old. He knocked out Floyd Patterson for the title in 1959.

And scores points for racer72!

For those of you keeping score at home, I’ve changed my user name.

qwest is now Critical Mass

When I posted that it was for informational purposes only. I never thought someone would have him.

Please include Rachm Qoch’s score in these updates, even at 0, so we can simultaneously breathe a sigh of relief, and gloat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Rachm Qoch is either going to get nothing, or everything all at once, with his very specific collection.

Yes, I know, but until the mass cult suicide happens, we can all enjoy the respite from Rachm Qoch’s dominance.

And should the mass cult suicide occur, and Rachm Qoch be catapulted into the lead, we can at least take comfort in the fact that a busload of fruitcakes has removed themselves from the earth.

Oh well, at least I’m leading for the ‘Inside Track’ award.

I gotta admit I’m rooting for him this year. It would be such an epic smackdown.

I think RQ is giving us a break this year, while still having a slim chance at winning.

John Gordy, the offensive lineman who played guard for the Detroit Lions from 1957 to ‘67 after starring at the University of Tennessee, has died at the age of 73. As a rookie, Gordy contributed to what is still the Lions’ most recent NFL title.
