Lou Jacobi, who appeared in both the 1955 Broadway and 1959 film versions of The Diary of Anne Frank, has died at the age of 95. Jacobi also appeared in such plays as Neil Simon’s Come Blow Your Horn and such movies as Arthur and Avalon.
5 points for anyrose.
and a unique pick?
w00t!
Wow, I had no idea he was still alive. He played the old man who got stuck in the TV in *Amazon Women on the Moon *and that was more than 20 years ago.
Yup.
Did he play the barman in Irma la Douce? I liked him… tara Lou.
He also played Uncle Morty in My Favorite Year … a great movie.
Former Viking defensive back, Orlando Thomas, dead. One week after his 37th birthday.
63 points for me and others.
How on earth did you know to pick Orlando Thomas? Was he sick or something?
From the link:
“Thomas revealed in June 2007 that he is suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known popularly in the US as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”
Five people had him. Captain Lance Murdoch moves into second place. Thomas was on my list last year, but not this.
Thomas is alive again. For the moment. His family refutes the story that he died.
I gotta start taking better notes. I’d love to know why, if Thomas came forward about his disease in 2007, I had him picked in 2005.
Hmm, well if he dies again you don’t get the points twice. Resurrection is not catered for.
I’ve never felt 63 points go away so quickly.

Still in a 3-way tie for 40th place…
Remind me to monitor him for nomination on next year’s list. When the denial includes “still fighting for life”, we’re practrically talkin’ meat on the table.
Children’s autho Norma Fox Mazer died on October 19, 2009. I loved her works.
Michelle Triola Marvin, whose lawsuit against actor Lee Marvin introduced the term “palimony” to the lexicon, has died at the age of 75. Though Michelle had never married Lee, she lived with him for six years. Following their split, she asked for $1.8 million (half of the money Lee had earned while they cohabited) and hired attorney Marvin Mitchelson to press her ultimately unsuccessful claim.
