David Treen, the first Republican since the Reconstruction era to serve as Louisiana’s governor, has died at the age of 81. He led the state from 1980 to '84 after serving in Congress as Louisiana’s first modern-era GOP U.S. Representative from 1973 to '80.
Dangit! Apparently Claude Levi-Strauss has died at 100 years old. He was on my deathpool list last year, but I forgot to enter this year. He would have been on the list again, giving me a big zero points.
