I saw The Cheap Detective when it came out. Maybe I was too young or not well-versed enough in the genre, but I hated it.
It seems to have a bit of a following now. Maybe they’ll show it on one of the movie channels (TCM, Flix, etc.) and I can give it another viewing.
Folks who haven’t seen at least Casablanca and The Maltese Falcon generally hate it.
