I recall it did indeed have to do with his topic ban. He brought it up and Miller instructed him to drop it. Not how he just portrayed it at all.
Similar to the first warning he drew from me when I broke the link of a scam site he had put up and then he linked to the same site again in an ATMB thread.
Oh, that was the second warning, the first was for a really racist post against Pakistani Cab Drivers in GD.
Also, in case anyone was wondering why I didn’t respond to this thread sooner, the reason was twofold.
Clearly many of you, for various reasons, and in various ways were clearly upset and even apparently in one case angry, I thought it was just better to just let things settle down.
Plus I thought the matter might just resolve itself. And ironically it ultimately did. I am actually glad I didn’t in any way get involved

I am actually very glad What_Exit provided all the relevant links, because then people can decide for themselves about those decisions. Not meaning to imply anything one way or another when I say that. I’m just stating a fact
The link to the ‘scam’ website of course leads to nothing now. But I feel compelled to point out, there was this free clickon cite, that was once actually quite popular on these boards. It was recently revealed to me that it is now disreputable. Again, the above link leads to nothing, so I honestly don’t know if what I said has anything to do with that. My memory certainly isn’t at all what it used to be too. But I’ll just mention that fact, whether it’s relevant or not, and leave it at that.
You reposted a link that you were informed about as being a link to a bad site. That was pretty grievous. It was either being very cute (trolling) or a really dumb thing to do. I removed the reported link from your ATMB OP of course.
Posting links to fund raisers without prior permission has been forbidden on this board for a very long time if not forever. To do so without even checking the site was still valid is really bad and ignorant.

This has absolutely nothing to do with what you just said about the clickon cite. And it has nothing to do with anything else in this thread either.
I don’t say this to criticize. And anyone who knows me knows that I typically don’t harbor malice towards anyone. I’m bragging when I say that. But it tends to be true.
But someone else already brought this up. And I think that it is an important and relevant question.

ISTM that your intial post was accurate.
This poster had been banned from discussing gay issues. But he was pitted for his posts on gay issues. So he was barred from defending himself on the exact issue about which he was pitted, and when he tried to do that anyway he got a warning.

The note that you reference was in response to a silly post directed to a poster that seemed confused about the subject at hand. Snark is pretty clearly not allowed, as I was told to knock it off. Jesus.
Also, to further complicate matters, in Pitting_Jim_B they seem to have concluded that I either have a developmental problem or perhaps am mentally ill (if I follow it correctly). What_Exit claims that he thinks I am a troll. Yet he uses terms like “rambling” to describe my threads. I never hear trolls described that way. But you have to admit, it may be the way you describe someone who has one of those two issues.
I am only making an observation. And I hope I’ll be proven wrong.

Looking up “rambling trolls” on the SDMB gives many instances. It’s very common. Presenting a rambling and barely coherent post is a classic trolling technique.
