I have achieved near nirvana today. With a new laptop computer and wireless router, this is my first ever post from bed. If I get antsy tomorrow, perhaps I’ll post from the couch. But I don’t wanna overdo it.
There’s a learning curve for posting flat on your back, My knees are bent so my keyboard is nearly vertical, and the screen pretty much is vertical. The touchpad “mouse” buttons are invisible behind the big fat candy mountain that is my stomach. Perhaps I’ll find it will be worth the effort to prop my back up against the headboard and put my keyboard in a more traditional horizontal form. I’m finding my upper arms slightly fatigued from holding them up to the keyboard. Ah, such a delicate balancing act, one not even possible just a few years ago except to the massively wealthy and government-sponsored paraplegics.
I’ve been coming to the realization that the future is mine. And I don’t even have to reach out and grab it. That would be too much work. My life choices are being reduced to hitting Enter or Esc (on occasion a “Cancel” button). Just a few years back we learned to be patriotic we must shop. And now I can be a patriot without even getting out of bed.
There are massive industries, that dwarf the Manhattan Project, to support me and my kind. It’s not only the computer industry, though computers are a big part of it. No, it’s also health care, which is spending billions upon trillions of dollars to keep completely sedentary people alive. It’s the auto industry, the Segway, the fast food folk, cable TV, etc. And porn! I can’t say enough good things about porn.
I got nothin’ else, just a few thoughts before I switch off and sleep.
