That’s the one! I wondered if “obscure” was the right word, then realized how few people I’ve run into (none IRL that I can recall) who have ever even heard of it. And it was a low-budget syndicated French/Canadian co-production that was generally shown late at night and went out of production (sigh) a couple of years ago. So I think it’s pretty obscure, though it deserves to be better known.
My confession: I absolutely love rod mckuen. I have a few of his books, and I have tapes of nearly every record he recorded. I like to listen to him reciting poetry at night during my bath or as I’m going to sleep. I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow him.
You only think you win, Adam. Here’s some more of mine:
I liked Cruel Intentions. I own a half dozen Beanie Babies. I enjoy some of the songs performed by Richard Marx, Leeann Rimes and Billy Ray Cyrus (only some of them, I’m not completely gone). I’ve never seen Monty Python. I own an Alanis Morrissette CD. The only Star Wars movie I saw in a theater was Episode I.
nods Yes I do it too Kiva. Its quite refreshing. I do all sorts of conversations from why I am doing something to wondering what they are doing. The only thing is that sometimes these conversations eventually happen IRL… thats just freaky knowing you have this conversation before with them… only it was in your head and not with them.
I too sing along with the music being played on the radio or my tape player. The only thing is. I don’t have a car. I sing while on the buses or in the middle of the street with my headphones on. (Hey I can sing and I usually know the words so its not like I’m mangling the songs)
I only know of one Highlander show and that is the one starring Adrian Paul (hey hes hot you have to admit) I have yet to see the movies but I want to buy all the seasons of Highlander so I can watch them all through… I also want to buy replicas of the swords used.
I rarely watch tv and when I do its mainly for the educational content. (Like A&E Biography or Mysteries of the Bible…) or for shows like Law & Order, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
I spend so much time online its ludicrist (sp?) and I’ve only been on the net for a year…
I listen to every type of music… Not just ‘boy bands’ I also have stuff like Farmer’s Daughter, Carolyn Arends, Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, Godsmack, Supergrass, Pink Floyd and Alanis Morissette mixed in with Queen, Backstreet Boys, Chantal Kreviazuk, Great Big Sea, ATeens (remakes of ABBA whom I also love), Sarah MacLachlan and Celine Dion.
Kat… I’ve never seen Monty Python either… I’m trying to get my hands on the videos though and I have read a few of the scripts just recently discovering them.
Oh my… I have so many I’ll probably be putting up more everytime I come here.
Never run from anything immortal, it attracts their attention.
Hi, Rosethorn, welcome to the board. I also like butter and sugar, but I make it into a paste, like cookie batter requires you to do. Brown sugar is even better. Never thought of it as anything to be embarrassed about, though! Also, and this doesn’t embarrass me either, I turned my college pals onto taking dry cake mix, stirring in water, and eating the subsequent pudding. Classic stoner food.
Chalk me up to the fake conversation club, too. I’m really bad at confrontation, and I find enacting a number of scenerios in my head helps me prepare. But I do the fake interviews, too. And when I was little, I did fake cooking shows. Oy.
This is tough for me, because I’m usually pretty open about my quirks. And then, there are some things about me that aren’t so much weird as disgusting.
So here’s what I came up with:
I read childrens’ fantasy novels. I want to make a (legal) porn movie. I collect Disney Art books. I talk to myself, out loud, when I walk around outside. I wear the same pair of socks several days in a row. And I mean several days…
Oh, and I still haven’t updated PigeonMan in four months. I keep meaning to change my sig so as not to fool you all, but haven’t.
(Jaw dropped in astonishment) – Now, I’ve heard everything! That’s like two million calories per stick!
I thought I was bad because I like to eat hot foods with a stick of cold butter or margarine and scrape a bit of the stuff off on the fork, scoop up the hot food and munch it down. The hot/cold flavor combined is delicious!
Of course, I go through 3/4 of a stick of margarine with each meal and have to frequently remove additional poundage. (Land-O-Lakes margarine sticks. MMMMMM!)
CAREFUL! We don’t want to learn from this!(Calvin and Hobbs)
I enjoy a good Sidney Sheldon novel - The Other Side of Midnight is the best!
I like to mix cream cheese and sugar together and eat the resulting cheesecake-like substance. I also like Peeps and Circus Peanuts.
When I was in junior high and high school and had to write book reports or research papers, I used to make up certain of the supporting material (quotes, sources, etc.) and then write fake bibliographies to back everything up - fake titles, authors, dates of publication - everything. Not one teacher ever noticed or called me on it. (I wasn’t brave enough to try this in college.)
Wow, this is better than in-patient psychiatric sessions!
My wife and I are addicted to Dr. Mario on the 8-bit Nintendo.
If it were an a Olympic event, we would surely win medals. We play at the toughest levels. The computer is no challenge to us. No one has ever beaten either of us.
Coming soon to a sig line near you!
Relive the mundane highs, the flaming lows, and the pointless posts in between. Announcing the debut of the best of Mullinator.
sigh ok. When watching TV, or going by McD’s I check to see what kind of toys they are putting in the Happy Meals. If I like them then I buy the Happy Meal and throw it away and keep the toy. I have most of the series of toys, like Snow White, Pocohontas, Robin Hood. I got three of the Disney glasses, couldnt’ find the fourth one, it really fried me.

I’ve learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.
