Luckily, Bachmann’s crazy eyes are the cherry on top of a sinfully delicious moron sundae. Pelosi just looks bugeyed in some photos. But if it makes conservatives feel better about Bachmann’s ineptitude to slag on a totally unrelated woman, then more power to them?
So, then, may we take it as a given that, in your opinion, Ms Bachmann is a perfectly reasonable person, with informed views and a firm grasp of history?
I bet if he doesn’t get to be the one to decorate the Oval Office he’ll just die! He’ll fall down and cry himself to death on the Presidential Seal and you just see if he doesn’t!
Whatever she thinks or says is irrelevant in the context of that photo and the headline that accompanies it. That cover is a smear job through and through. One would think that if Bachmann was all that out there, Newsweek and its ilk would have only to report that. But no, they opt for the dishonest cheap shot, based undoubtedly upon the knowledge that more people will see their cover than will actually read their increasingly crap magazine, and thus get across what they want people to think without having to actually, you know, report on it.
Okay, I’ll be fair. I just thought to look up Bachmann’s Wikipedia photo. She’s looking at the camera. So I retract the snark as anything more than hyperbole.
actually people are going to look back at the debt ceiling debacle and the roll the Tea Party played in it and say ‘why didn’t we do anything to stop those half brained, ultraconservative morons?’
The photo is just how she looks. They didn’t doctor it. it’s not Newsweek’s fault her eyes look like that. What are they supposed to do, shop them out?
The “rage” in the title refers to the teabaggers. She’s the queen of the teabaggers. Do the teabaggers not like to characterize themselves as angry?
It’s Newsweek’s fault that it deliberately chose a photo designed to make her look crazy. Have you seen the photo of Pelosi that’s getting bounced around here? I’ll guarantee you’ll never see it on the cover of Newsweek or the NYT or any other leftie rag.
The Tea Partiers don’t like the way things are going in this country and some of them are angry. But in no way would I call them the party of rage. That’s not only silly but a prime example of media bias all on its own. There was a hell of a lot more rage aimed at GWB in 2004 than there is coming from the Tea Party now, and yet somehow I don’t recall a single cover story touting the Dems as the party of “rage”.
Sorry, guys. There’s just no way to put a positive spin on this. It’s a deliberate hatchet job and anyone being honest with themselves will see it for what it is.
P.S. - Here’s a similar Newsweek hatchet job on Palin, complete with negative headline also. Newsweek needs to up its game, it’s becoming predictable.
P.P.S. - I do have to say it’s rather amusing watching all the leftie outlets panicking in the aftermath of Bachmann’s impressive debate appearance.
The fact she is on the cover at all is a fucking disgrace. This woman is an idiot, crazy eyes, rage, what-the-fuck ever. Now she is going around saying the S&P downgrade was Because they raised the debt ceiling. I mean that is the absolute opposite of true and correct. it is logic that exists in a parallel universe where dogs marry cats and being grown-up amounts to not fucking paying your debts. She is a dangerous fucking loon who is catering to the fucking dangerous loons in the Tea Party and I think they didn’t make her look assholish enough on the cover.
so all the Tea Partiers posting death threats against atheists on FOX news’ facebook pages is just a leftie propaganda ploy too? That is what really pisses me off about conservative christians. The lying hypocrites are CINO (Christian In Name Only. thank you Joe McCarthy.) Any time anything comes along they don’t agree with it becomes unamerican, unchristian and socialist. Not that any of them actually understand what any of those words mean, because if they did…they probably wouldn’t be conservatives anymore, and they REALLY wouldn’t be Tea Partiers. Face it, if you read the red letters (i.e. the teachings of Christ) in the bible, it becomes readily apparent that the liberals in this country are the real ‘Christians’ (regardless of actual sectarian denomination,) and the conservatives are the real atheists. Somehow the inherent greed which is spewed forth from the Tea Party just doesn’t sit well with ANYTHING attributed to Christ in the Bible.
If you want to really fuck up a tea partier, give them a bible and challenge them to defend their views using only the red letters in the bible. It can’t be done. The minute they bring up anything from the old Testament or from the Epistles or Revelations, bust them for not being Christians. Call them Jews or Paulists. Then point out that their professed dogmatic beliefs are those of St. Augustine of Hippo, not Christ (,seriously, read City of God and then tell me I’m wrong.) Then ask them which they are: Christian or Tea Party. It will really wreck their day.
