I’m an avid follower of this show but tonights episode led me to believe that the producers of the show are not the brightest bulbs on the string.
They ended the show with a cliffhanger. One of the contestants quit because of his fears about his injuries so they had to vote to bring one of the defeated fighters back to replace him. Someone made the decision to reveal the result of the vote in the next episode.
Then the “scenes from the next episode came” up
I’ll put this in a spoiler box even though its not really a spoiler since they’re the ones that aired it.
These scenes show a clip of next week’s fight in which ahmed is fighting so right away we know he is the one selected in the vote. This obliterates the decision to not show the results of the vote until the next episode. Also, they show a clip of Jesse’s interview in the next show where he’s sporting facial injuries which suggest that he has also fought (and won since the interview was in the daytime)
This goes to prove to me that whomever is managing the presentaion of this series has a few screws loose. Overall I’ve enjoyed the show but they are making some really boneheaded mistakes.
Is there anyone else following this show? I’ve really enjoyed it because of the quality of the contestants. They really make you care about these people. They are not playing some political game; they are really well-meaning athletes trying to test their mettle in this sport as well as trying to gain financial security for their families.
The fights at the end are much more honest “immunity challenges” than survivor or the like could ever hope to produce. These guys put their whole career at risk whenever they step into the ring. Survivor losers get to go home with a little bit of fame to show for it, these guys are risking their futures.
