The Contents Of My Pantry... The MMP

Drive-by! I have several things to take care of in the next hour. Most notably, eating, packing up the lunch I made last night, purchasing a water bottle and finding somewhere to fill it up before I meet the others for the hike I’m going on today with some of my fellow incoming physics graduate students. Five miles in three hours. I think I can handle it.

I just wish I had thought to bring one of my actual walking sticks instead of the subject of today’s pun (derived from my real life circumstances):

Naturally I’m not taking it on the hike. It’s of no use as a walking stick - it’d be deadweight.

kai - hugs aplenty. Sorry for your loss. :frowning:

I brought a spare case of pronouns, because I suspected canine servant might be up to his usual shenanigans.

:: opens the case :: Everyone dig in and use as needed.

Poop fairies. Now there’s a story for Grimm!

We are doing fairy tales in one of my [del]torture sessions[/del] online classes this week.
I am tired, crabby and not very nice today. Gotta go work at the lib. I truly need a day of some down time–won’t be tomorrow. I have to drive my husband to work so that he has his car back since he is driving the Mini back tonoc, since it fixed. $800 later. Thank god for car insurance-we don’t owe all of that.
Hope the dog makes nice today–all the dogs, fairies or evil demon hounds from hell.

bye.

At one time in my life, I could order up to five beers in seven different languages. And my high school Spanish didn’t really help me when I went to Spain. Of course, five years had gone by, so I forgot almost all of it.

Hmmmmmmmm. Sounds like somebody’s been peeking. :dubious:

Anyway, at my age, I’d feel all pervy doing anything else but admiring the flesh.

bobbio, this calls for “DAMN DOGS!” I am a dog lover but have a real problem with people who let their dogs (large or small) out without supervision. Fills me with lots of GRRRRR, too.

swampy, we had some major boomers last night, too. We haven’t had such a ruckus in a long time.

Today is my Friday again. We are biting the bullet and getting the new air-conditioner/heating unit. (fcm, we ended up getting the Trane.) They are coming to put it in tomorrow. Ah home ownership.

That’s all I got for now.

Tupug

Howdy-do. “Doo” being the operative word around here, still, apparently! :stuck_out_tongue:

Mucho work to do today. I’ll be back! /Arnold

Who, me? You!

Good morning everybody.

I’m back at work today. I still feel kind of crappy, but I can function, at least.

Bobbio, I’m right with you on the loose dog thing. I have been bitten, and it wasn’t fun. Nor did it feel good.

I need to run a couple of errands after work today. One errand is to buy my daughter a new TI-83 Plus/TI-84 calculator. She seems to have misplaced hers, and it is required for her Algebra II class. Hell, it’s required for any damn math class they take nowadays. I saw them at Office Max the other day. One hundred freakin’ dollars. That’s just freakin’ ridiculous.

Hugs to all that need them.

I’ll try to check in later, but I’ve got a metric buttload of work to do today.

Hey, it’s not a big deal, and it happens to everyone at one time or another.

Paragraph break; change in subject. Coincidental reference to canine related nouns regretable.

Still missing pronouns. What did you know and when did you know it? :stuck_out_tongue:

Anybody with a PDA please come post in my thread. It would be embarrassing as hell if no one posted any advice for me! :frowning:

Where’s your thread?

Never mind, I found it. Unfortunately I don’t have any advice on buying a new Palm. I could post in there anyway?
BTW, I like your bio.

The Five Toed Chair Sloth is not happy - I got a new office chair. It is bright red, and is a task chair with no arms and a very small back. Since the old chair was an “executive”-type desk chair, she could lounge on the top of the chair back. She spent so much time there the chair practially had to be shaved when Mr. SCL took it out for cleaning. When it dries, it will come back in and this one will be used for bead work.

(thanks for the pronouns, dogbutler)

I need to go clean the shelves a friend gave me to store bead stuff on. And clean the litter boxes and take out the trash. Blah.

manamana!

li-li ** - I’m sorry, you feel going to work after between 4 and 5 hours sleep is rough? try doing it on 2 hours sleep, several days in a row. Mr Li ** has it luxurious!
SCL - “ba-dee-dih-dee-dee”

I couldn’t find your thread - linky please

Sudoku is my drug-of-choice, on line and on paper. I have a tablet of a few hundred puzzles I keep in the car, I take it into doctor’s offices, repair shops, or just sit in the car on lunch hour and happily puzzle away

I’m off to the dentist to see what he can do with what’s left of my tooth. Sigh. That’s what I get for thinking that everything’s all paid up and I can start saving money again.

I had a perfectly awful dream last night that one of my cats died and the other one was moping around, missing him. I have never been so happy to feel his cold nose on mine at 5 am! He got a big hug this morning, much to his dismay. I think it’s time to call the doctor and see if I can get the dosage reduced, my dreams are all turning into nightmares.

It hit me last night when I was driving home that I will never ride again, at least not competitively. If I was in agony before, I can’t even imagine how much pain it would cause me now. I haven’t competed in 15 years, but I always thought that some day, I would own horses again and compete. Now, just thinking about getting on a horse makes my knees hurt.

I spend far too much time playing “trial” games. I think I’ll check out Real Arcade, though, I’ve run out of games on the other sites.

It’s the fourth night in a row that he’s only gotten between four and five hours, and he’s in intensive training for his weapons black belt, so he’s getting insane amounts of exercise. I do sympathise. I have had a few weeks during this last year of insomnia when I’ve only gotten an hour of sleep a night. You really know what it would feel like to be undead after a while. Insomnia is my least favourite form of bodily disorder. I’d rather have a broken leg.

Leaving in a few minutes for ring shopping, I hope. Quasi-Daughter likes sapphires and very plain settings. I wonder what the budget is for this expedition.

My PDA Thread One person has posted, so now I don’t feel 100% loser. But if any of you use a Palm, I’d welcome your comments.

That’s funny about my bio, Meekers. I wrote that when I signed up, lo these 7+ years ago. I’d forgotten everything that was there, except the location.

Click on her name, then click on “All threads started by Ellen Cherry”. It is the first one.

Oh, and Ellen, I use Palms but all of my Palms have been hand-me-downs. It is just not something I have ever considered buying! Usually this is the way it works - my SO’s brother buys a new one, so he gives his old one to my SO. Then in a year or two the brother buys another, passes his old one to my SO, who then passes the previous one to me. So I have no advice on buying a new one, I’m afraid.
