[nitpick]But doesn’t Scandinavian also refer to the linguistic sub-group of the Germanic languages that consists of Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Icelandic? By that standard, the term “Scandinavian” includes more than just the people who live on the Scandinavian Peninsula.

Also, while close territorially, Finland is not really a Scandinavian country because Finnish is not an Indo-European (let alone Scandinavian) language.
