The Continuing adventures of Kai and Jam

So we adopted two cats a little while ago,( thread here) and the adjustments and training of the new staff has been quite exasperating for them.
Week 1:
Discovered that the box spring makes an excellent sleeping area. Cool, secluded, quiet and off the floor. Sure the fabric now sags a little but that’s a Staff Problem.

We have been trying to get the humans to adapt to our feeding schedule but they are quite stupid and only feed us twice a day vice the on demand service we deserve. Working on this.

Staff put on a display of other animals on “YooTube” which were quite fascinating. They evidently thought I (Kai) was hungry and placed a menu on the screen for me to choose my evening meal. I waited until the right moment to strike the bird but it was all a cruel hoax. I struck with full force and would have had the bird but was stopped by an invisible force, and dropped to the box and shelf below the “TV” which due to shoddy workmanship pulled from the wall and caused quite a fracas as everything fell to the stereo stand. I retreated back to the sleeping cave to analyze my failures while Staff straightened up their mess.
The following day the female demonstrated the birds to her friend as I walked by and I realized I should beat a hasty retreat back to the cave in case the wall collapsed.
Jam and I have both been exploring the upper tiers of the rooms which is causing the Staff to bellow out various things. It’s almost as though they are trying to communicate, how cute.
Week 2:
Have slowly been spending more time with the Staff to ascertain their limits intellectually and allow them to groom us occasionally. They refuse to use tongues like civilized folk. Very strange.
Have taken over the “Kattsang” as one of our napping spots. Jam insists on spending more time there and I have had to correct his behaviour by sitting on his head. He’s responded by kicking me in the head with his back feet. He’s a bit unappreciative if you ask me.
The large living room window is quite entertaining with a large variety of edibles flying around.
Week 3:
Staff had a bunch of other Staff over for dinner. Many delicious smells occurred but no one thought to offer any to Jam and I. We took it upon ourselves to rectify the situation while they ate outside like Barbarians. We did indeed “haz cheezburger”. Staff were visibly upset, however I’m sure it was more embarrassment about their poor performance in front of the other Staff. More training required.
It has been very warm, but we have managed to solar charge with the sun puddles Staff kindly laid out for us. Perhaps they may actually be salvageable.

   What a great read! It sounds like they’re doing well and providing the Staff with entertainment. :cat:

This is great!

Agree that this is great! However, am not letting my feline employers read it as I do not want them to get ideas they do not already have and they have plenty. My Siamese in particular is a Special Forces kind of enforcer…I live in fear of displeasing her.

Tell Kai and Jam to keep up the training, Staff will get it through their thick skulls eventually.

Week Three Cont’d: Had to demonstrate proper bed making technique to Staff as they were all"billowing the sheets and trying to spread them". Jam ensured the old sheets were properly wound up and made a blanket cave the Staff were so impressed with they were somewhat loathe to remove. Eventually, he came out and helped me capture all the transdimensional creatures that were causing sheet ripples. The Staff seem oblivious to them; I often wonder how they can get around with such poor sensory adaptations. Had to pounce on one that was feeding on the male.s hip while he was sleeping! Eternal vigilance is my watchword.
Staff made an important discovery of a large cave with many interesting nooks and crannies yesterday. We motioned them back while we took the opportunity to investigate under the wheeled conveyances and assorted boxes and objects. There has been another feline here but her scent is nebulous and faded. Jam reports more of the same in the lower levels of the domicile. I have questioned the Staff but receive only blank looks. It is a wonder they can even feed themselves…
swampspruce here: Don’t let your felines see this; it only gives them more ammo!!!
