So we adopted two cats a little while ago,( thread here) and the adjustments and training of the new staff has been quite exasperating for them.
Week 1:
Discovered that the box spring makes an excellent sleeping area. Cool, secluded, quiet and off the floor. Sure the fabric now sags a little but that’s a Staff Problem.
We have been trying to get the humans to adapt to our feeding schedule but they are quite stupid and only feed us twice a day vice the on demand service we deserve. Working on this.
Staff put on a display of other animals on “YooTube” which were quite fascinating. They evidently thought I (Kai) was hungry and placed a menu on the screen for me to choose my evening meal. I waited until the right moment to strike the bird but it was all a cruel hoax. I struck with full force and would have had the bird but was stopped by an invisible force, and dropped to the box and shelf below the “TV” which due to shoddy workmanship pulled from the wall and caused quite a fracas as everything fell to the stereo stand. I retreated back to the sleeping cave to analyze my failures while Staff straightened up their mess.
The following day the female demonstrated the birds to her friend as I walked by and I realized I should beat a hasty retreat back to the cave in case the wall collapsed.
Jam and I have both been exploring the upper tiers of the rooms which is causing the Staff to bellow out various things. It’s almost as though they are trying to communicate, how cute.
Week 2:
Have slowly been spending more time with the Staff to ascertain their limits intellectually and allow them to groom us occasionally. They refuse to use tongues like civilized folk. Very strange.
Have taken over the “Kattsang” as one of our napping spots. Jam insists on spending more time there and I have had to correct his behaviour by sitting on his head. He’s responded by kicking me in the head with his back feet. He’s a bit unappreciative if you ask me.
The large living room window is quite entertaining with a large variety of edibles flying around.
Week 3:
Staff had a bunch of other Staff over for dinner. Many delicious smells occurred but no one thought to offer any to Jam and I. We took it upon ourselves to rectify the situation while they ate outside like Barbarians. We did indeed “haz cheezburger”. Staff were visibly upset, however I’m sure it was more embarrassment about their poor performance in front of the other Staff. More training required.
It has been very warm, but we have managed to solar charge with the sun puddles Staff kindly laid out for us. Perhaps they may actually be salvageable.
