"The Core" didn't suck

I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Sure, the science was dopey, but that was kind of the point; it was a throwback to the old late-50s / early-60s movies like Crack Around the World and so on. Yeah, the ending was too protracted, as they tried to throw too many twists at the heroes, but I still thought it was fun in exactly the sort of spirit they were aiming for.

Oh, and Stanley Tucci’s hysterical crackup scene, for me, was worth the price of admission. I almost pissed my pants laughing.

Science aside… it was a good movie… most people like Armageddon, it was the same thing, instead of going up the way they went in the way… Wasnt a bad movie at all.

Hey, rereading that, I realize that my post could be taken to suggest that I thought you were a schmuck. I’m guessing it’s unecessary, but I just want to be clear that I was only commenting on the way the spoiler box looked to me, and I didn’t intend to cast aspersions.

I think sometimes cheesy sci-fi/fantasy can be a trancendant joy. Zardoz springs to mind.
