The core vs Armagedd...which film is cornier and more preposterous?

Watched ‘The core’ recently and i had to agree with most reviewers that it was simply so preposterous, cliched and corny that of course i enjoyed it! Infact, when drawn up against its’ cousin ‘Armageddon’, it wins hands down the three things i mentioned earlier-overall preposterousness(sp?), cliched beyond belief and corny.
So what do you guys think? Which of the two was worse?

Oh dear lord…that should of course be 'The core vs ‘Armageddon’. Apologies…

Armageddon is the more realistic story (Christ, did I just write that?), seeing as how it’s perfectly possible for an asteroid to come hurtling at Earth.

Actually, I believe Armageddon would have been a fine movie if they had just placed it thirty years in the future.

…and had hired a science consultant.

I think both films were trumped by Deep Impact, the only disaster movie where you end up rooting for the disaster.

The Bad Astonomer on the Core and Armageddon.

I think we can conclude that while Armageddon sucked, The Core both sucked and blowed.

Here is an interesting sidenote to * The Core*. A scientist has proposed a possible way to research the core of the earth and in this article he mentions that the movie inspired him to publish his proposal.
