Completely mundane and pointless, but I thought I’d share.

I’m flipping through “The Straight Dope Tells All” last night and this is what I see on page 60:

“I have burped, farted and sneezed at the same time and I am still alive. -Dan Povenmire, Los Angeles”

What!? THAT Dan Povenmire? Surely not! Must be another Dan Povenmire from LA. Surely there are hundreds of them.

I still haven’t gotten around to asking Kyle Gann if he’s the same guy from this column.

Huh. I didn’t see anything in his resume to indicate living in Lewisburg, but I could have missed something.

And you’ve inspired me to check Gann’s resume. Looks like a probable match - he was teaching at Bucknell in 1991.
