The Crimson Glyph (Werewolf/Mafia/Psychopath)

  1. Yes, you were on to me, but I’m not sure if any of your reasons were logical.

  2. We discussed Night Killing you on…Night One, but decided your posts were quite…useful to us.

  3. Ped should open Scum Board to you, which is very interesting if you want to read it. Please read it in chronological order to understand how things developed. It was…interesting.

Ostracization was not the problem. Lack of consistent posting and subs were a big problem for the Town. The Scum were stable and active the whole game(rysto subbed in very early).

Nothing was wrong with it. It’s not a bad idea, in my opinion.

Nothing except for the fact that AllWalker didn’t edit his claim. He paraphrased it, and then when people asked him for the exact wording, he gave the exact wording. OK, so maybe he ought to have given the exact quote the first time instead of the paraphrase, but that’s not the end of the world.

Though you have to admit it IS a scum tactic to offer up a paraphrased PM first, before posting a fake one…just to see if it’ll be bought.
That’s what I did when I just said that I’m a Vanilla Town, the TF asked me for the PM and stole it.

Oh, and:

It was supposed to work exactly the way it did work. We vote on someone to kick out of the town, whomever gets the most votes leaves, and in some cases they can do something on the way out. The mechanics of ostracization were explicitly described by the moderator at the beginning of the game, and those mechanics did not change.

There was originally also an option for execution, but the moderator decided that that was a bad mechanic, and so removed that option entirely, so how execution worked was “it didn’t”.

You being a scum who did actually use that tactic, I’ll take your word for it, but I’m not sure how that’s beneficial to scum. It’s not like, if it isn’t bought, you can go back and say “Oh, well, in that case I’m something else.”.

What I mean is when asked to claim you can say “I’m ______ and my powers are _______” if it’s bought you don’t have to worry about faking a PM and having it look different then others (either word for word or in the format of it).
At least that’s my theory for why paraphrasing your PM would be benefical to scum.
AW OTOH did it for an entirely different reason.

By the way, Meeko, it was me who initially listed the lack of “You are Town” in AllWalker’s PM as a reason for distrust.

I was glad you picked up on it.

I had Allwalker Second in my list. You right before Chronos.

Suffice to say, If I ever get a scum role. … Just be glad I got my feet wet with a town role.

Meeko, ask Ped to let you read the Scum board and read it. I think it is quite worth it.

:The camera pans out, to reveal two vegetables sitting next to a computer:

“So Bob, what did we learn today?”
“Well, I learned that sometimes your village can be infiltrated by demons, and you have to be really careful about accusing your fellow man.”
“Huh. I learned that a ruined Puritan village looks a lot like a crop circle. An intricate crop circle!”

Anyway, here’s what I got from this game:
Modding is hard.
Complexity for complexity’s sake is bad. Yeah. There were, what, two roles that cared about the O/E mechanic by the final set-up? That should have been removed from the beginning.
The no-editing rule is kinda over the top. There weren’t really any consequences to the lack of a no editing rule. Also, the time limit really helps.
Lurking is worse when other players are really active. This one is pretty interesting. Becuase Meeko was so talkative, the lurkers had a much tougher time actually playing, making things worse. I guess the lesson is…uh…
There’s a reason most mods don’t sub past Day 2. Becuase it creates lurkers and ghosts.
Double-triple-check your setup. Aside from my mistake of keeping in the O/E mechanic, I failed to realize that paul’s first role could have been a Game Breaker for the Sinners if he had joined them. :smack:
God’s a pretty cool guy. But kinda crazy.

Spoiler Board
Scum Board
Mason Board

Ped, I have emailed/Pmed you about me modding the next game. Let me know what you think.

Sounds good to me. There’s really no formal process, it’s just whoever happens to be ready and willing.

But before you start, I’d show your setup to at least one other person to make sure it’s balanced.

Hey, thanks.

PM me about how to set up the Secret Boards(for scum and so forth). I’d appreciate it.

oh, really, don’t read the mason board.

The secret boards all still ask for login/password. Also, was there a Sinner board?

I’ve got an idea in mind for a game, too, but I figure I ought to get a little more experience playing first.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. I take it that he was not sinner immune (I think he claimed he was at some point)?

I don’t think he claimed to be sin-immune, especially considering that one of his own powers would have Sinfected himself. I think that some Scum might have accused him of claiming that, though, to discredit him.

Fixed.

And yes, there was a sinner board, but it had a grand total of 9 posts, of which most were uninteresting.

Ah, well played scum. I can’t feel too had about losing to such a well coordinated team.

I’d just like to point out - Rysto was a Scum Doctor. It’s way to late to say I told you so, so I wont. But this was a clever game played by clever people… I had a lot of fun. Thanks guys!

I still can’t see the scum or spoiled boards, but mason works.

i read the first page. I’m sorry.

Italics mine.

Never said he wasn’t.

So, here is what gets me. The one thing I didn’t follow up on, was actually looking at Mahaloth for actual reasons.

When I did, all of the right people more or less were like “Mahaloth has done no wrong, how can he not be Town”?

What is the most unusual role you have ever seen played? [Open to all]

I am not going to apologize. I actually enjoyed the game. I am going to play other Mafia games. If you object to this, then you can improve your game, don’t attack my experience, when we both know how many games I have under my belt.

Everyone has room to Improve. EVERYONE. I enjoy the game, and the next game will not be as complex.
