I think that lynch the lurker only works when the lurker is town. Otherwise someone starts another drumbeat (spurious g?) and that’s that. Also, if captain pinkies is scum then he probably have 5+ PMs waiting for him next time he logs on telling him to get his ass over here and say something.
And spurious did explain his execution vote after the fact:
NETA: Pedescribe, you say that days are five days long. Does that mean the day is set? There’s no number of votes under which a hammer situation occurs?
1-2) Though my phrasing was clearly imperfect, of course I did not “admit to being a Sinner” - on the contrary, I am without Sin, so I felt Biblically justified in casting the first stone. I really meant to remind players that if an execution takes place, there is a penalty for the last voter. Thus being the first voter guaranteed I would remain unblemished if an Execution took place.
Mentioned already that I interpret Ostracization to be weaker than Execution, however I was also keeping in mind that we are floundering in the dark a bit with how the 2 types of Execution will work. Until we really see how they work, we have little knowledge of their efficacies, differences, or situational uses. We’re probably going to have to use them both at least once. I figured to just get the conversational ball rolling on E vs. O.
No, not really a fan of bandwagons. I simply wanted to get in an early, as opposed to late and backfiring vote. And I figured I would point my finger where another had already been pointed (for at least some stated reason - editing - perhaps not a good reason), rather than select a new random target.
Yes. SirDirx still needs a sub. I have a few people who could do it, but none of them particularly want to; if I can’t find anyone else soon, then one of them will go in.
Except for in two situations that I can think of.
1)You are the ONLY person to vote for the entire day
or
2)All the other votes are on two other players who are tied (AND the both have the same amount of execute votes).
Unlikely, yes, but it’s possible that putting in the first vote on someone may still put the seed of sin in you.
Another point: If someone gets executed, someone will receive the Seed of Sin. Why is it worse if it’s you than if it’s anyone else? You can trust yourself to pray (unless you intend to go sinful), but you can’t trust anyone else to.
Hi guys… luckily this time I am subbing into a game that is still in its first day and I don’t have hundreds or thousands of posts to catch up on… so I’m pretty much all caught up. Day ends on Sunday right? Ok then for now I am gonna sleep on it and figure out who I want to vote… but it definitely won’t be SpurGe as that whole bandwagon is a joke.
A few things about myself real quick since I missed introductions. I started playing Mafia online in January of this year… maybe February… can’t remember… I have 7 games under my belt… am currently playing in 5 including this one and modding as well. My win-loss record is 2 wins, 2 loss… I don’t count game I sub into past Day 2. I’m almost always seen as scummy by other town even when I am not.
Here is a linkto my page on the mafiagames wiki if you are even remotely interested… I doubt that is the case.
A very experienced player from another site who knows the perils of editing posts, and the fact that editing is usually a rule violation in games and should have read that it was ill-advised in this game.
I don’t see the case against Spurious G being all that strange, for Day 1 at least. Though I do accept that people are interpreting what are clearly jokes as scum tells.
If I came out and said “I am voting for Player X kthxbai” I would expect to attract votes against me. Add to that the controversy surrounding E vs O, it makes it even stranger.
As for E vs O, let’s look at what we know and can guess
Pro O arguments:
*No Seed of Sin
*If Powered Town is ostracised, they can still use their powers at Night. This is highly significant, as powers and numbers are the only two advantages town has.
*It wouldn’t surprise me if there is a way to bring ostracized players back. Pure speculation on my part, but I wouldn’t put it past ped to come up with something like that. Since we will find out a player’s alignment on ostracising, we would not bring back scum. If you think this is an unlikely speculation, fair enough, so do I.
Pro E arguments:
*Powered scum are unable to return/use powers. If a scum returns, what would be the big deal? We’d kill them nice and proper. And we don’t even know that scum have powers, or if they are worth worrying about.
I want to reiterate a point: powers and numbers are the only two advantages town has. Destroying power roles through simple mistakes or bad lucks is not pro-town.
