The Crimson Glyph (Werewolf/Mafia/Psychopath)

Of course. But the Scum are using their brains as well. So it isn’t much of an advantage. Well, maybe it is because Scum have to lie, which is harder…

But you’re right, we can’t rely on role powers. A clever Vanilla Townie is worth more than an uncommitted Doctor.

  1. Yes.

  2. Their win condition would not change back.

Vote Count:
AngeloftheNorth (3): Special Ed, Spurious George, Thing Fish
Spurious George (4): Chronos, AllWalker, Joey P., Nanook
Chronos (2): Meeko, Freudian Slit
Nanook of the North Shore (1): Telcontar
Captain Pinkies (1): Mahaloth

E (2): Spurious George, Meeko
O (8): Special Ed, Chronos, AllWalker, Mahaloth, Joey P., nanook, Telcontar, Freudian Slit, Thing Fish

What happens if a Townie is the last to vote for execution twice in a row?

Can a Townie get the seed of sin twice?

Can a Blackheart get the seed of sin twice?

Even granting that Spurious George was joking, that still doesn’t change the fact that he voted, and chose the apparently less pro-town lynch option, without giving a clear reason for either (at least, at the time). I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t explain their reasons for their choices. My vote stands.

And even if we don’t lynch Spurious, I would recommend that we do not lynch Captain Pinkies. Yeah, yeah, Lynch the Lurker and all, but I don’t think Pinkies is lurking: It looks to me like he’s just plain not playing. A player who’s officially in the game but isn’t playing looks to me to be nearly equivalent to a player who’s already dead, which means that lynching him is the equivalent of going no-lynch. Which I think is fairly well-established as being a bad idea.

  1. Nothing in particular
  2. Yes, but nothing in particular happens.
  3. See 2

**Do we get role reveal upon execution?
Do we get alignment reveals upon execution?
Do we get role reveal upon ostracization?
So we get alignment reveal upon ostracization?

Yes yes, and yes yes.

My Intro… I am captain Pinkies (AKA Seattle Guy) I started playing on Facebook in November, and have been branching out from there… I’ve played a few games since then somewhere around 10 or so…

That’s right Ed… Round 2

Two things here… one… just because the method SpurGe chose to vote isn’t the most popular one does not mean that his vote was a “less pro-town lynch option” for all you know he may have some kind of power that can cancel out the Seed of Sin. Making it less of an issue for him.

Two… Cap aint lurking… he’s busy… so you are right there… it’s not just this game it’s across the board… errr… boards. He seems to be around now though, so… ummm… yeah… I dunno where I’m going with this… shutting up now…

Hmmmm… Finally caught up through here… I do appologies for my tardiness R/L has been full. I will be posting more in the later evening over the weekend. Family time needs to be respected… I’m a fan of VOTE the lurker and I deserve the vote  But I am here…

Perhaps, but that is a dangerous mindset to fall into. “OMG what a strange move he must have powers” basically makes it impossible to spot scum tells. At the end of the day we have to assume the same rules apply to all of us, until we can be convinced otherwise.

I still think voting to execute without giving a reason is the scummiest thing that has happened so far. On Day 5 it would mean less but on Day 1 we have so little to go on. And I don’t particularly think lurker-lynching tells us a single thing on Day 1. Wait and see who has an established pattern of lurking before busting out the noose.

Should have read that it was ill-advised in this game? What I read was the MODERATOR saying it was okay.

I never introduced myself, so…I’ve been playing Mafia (almost entirely on Facebook, which is a different culture entirely, but I will respect the culture here) for about a year, I think. And I’m sorry for the posting mistakes…it’s taking me a while to figure out how the controls here. And Special Ed always thinks I’m scum. In fact, at this point if he didn’t vote me on Day One I’d be suspicious of him.

Vote Ostracize Idea Fish, for deciding whether to Ostracize or Execute me too randomly.

so, you skimmed the parts where we discussed the fact while editing was allowed, it was certainly going to be viewed as anti-Town? (see posts 97, 104, 107, 111) Most of these right about the same time you started positng in posts 101 and 102 and before you edited post 123.

I don’t know that I think you’re Scum. Anti-Town, yes. And you seemed to have deliberately made a move (trying to set a precident for editing) which can only be viewed as Pro-Scum.

I don’t know, it seems pretty arbitrary to just say that editing is anti Town–why would anyone do it knowingly (i.e., not by slip up)? No one wants to look anti Town on purpose. It’s not like scum have to show a certain number of tells that they use up by editing t heir posts. You’d think scum would if anything try harder NOT to edit.

:smack:

This is mafia, not the f-ing common law. do you honestly think that angel’s color change was part of a scum plot to legitimize editing, or is this just your way of trying to ensure that our first kill is someone not-you?

Editing creates bizarre situations of exclusive knowledge. “So and so just made a suspicious remark - oh wait, never mind, he changed it.” Scum are probably going to slip up rarely, and editing reduces the chance of slipup quite a lot.

Angel’s edit was likely inocent, but as time drags on and the pressure adds up… short answer, please don’t do it folks. It’s not good.

I’m sorry. I’m not AngelOfNorth’s advocate, but I think you might be pushing it a bit by saying he deliberately tried to set a precedent for editing.
