This is the official start of Day 1.
Is it too early to ask for a vote count?
No problem.
Vote Count:
Thank you. What with all the confusion I lost count myself. I was close though.
Well lets get the obligatory introductions overwith…
Exiled Scot living in England, 13th game…hopefully not too unlucky!
Joey, never lived outside South East Wisconsin, 2nd game.
Hello, American Hollywood amoral liberal. Swimming pools, movie stars. First game of this here, many forum games and real-life Werewolf/Mafia games experienced.
OK, so let me see if I understand properly. We have to make a couple of decisions each Day.
-
Are we going to flat out kill someone or ostracize them? What are the advantages and disadvantages to each?
-
Who is it going to be?
Are there any other key questions we should consider right away?
Ped mentioned nothing about editing your post. I assume it’s not allowed, is it?
Good point for the newest players. I assume we can’t edit our posts.
In the last game I was in (my first game, so it may be standard), editing a post, even at night, even if it was fluff, got you 5 penalty votes. It makes you an easy lynch if people don’t know who else to lynch.
I see we’re all introducing ourselves.
I’m your daddy
Well, if we kill someone the last one of us to vote gets infected. Who wants that? No one will want to vote.
16, male, student in I’mnottellingU
It’s not mentioned in the rules.
Hi all. I’m Sir Dirx, but please feel free to just call me Dirx. I’m currently involved in two games right now, and my time will be a little limited until the semester and all related work is over (should be a week or two). I’m a bit of a masochist, so that’s why I signed up for a game that looks much more complex than I’m probably ready for, but what the hell. It was too interesting to pass up.
Right. So what is the primary disadvantage to ostracization? I want to make sure I understand the options.
I’m still figuring these distinctions out. Why would we not ostracize? What does it do? What doesn’t it do?
Does that mean we can edit our posts?
If so, still don’t do it. It’s too scummy. Live with your errors anmd force the Scum to live with it too. They’ll make more telling errors in the long run
Yes, you may.
I assume, that implies, we vote in PM ?
Not sure if that was a woosh or not, but my “vote count” was a joke as there were no votes cast yet (and we were, what, like 20 minutes into the day). Votes are cast publicly, in one of the first posts of this thread Ped explained how to cast a vote.
OTOH, if that was a woosh, jokes on me.
