Is it just me or does the person posing with Jennifer Aniston look nothing like Jim Carrey? But more like, I don’t know, Keanu Reeves younger brother or something?
No, it’s not just you. It does look nothing like Jim Carrey to me too.
Is there a link to a page that has the cover on it? The ew frontpage says you must subscribe.
I’m glad to see I wasn’t insane. The current issue (the double issue about cult films) says that they got a lot of mail from people who didn’t recognize him either!
There was a blurb in last weeks US Weekly about Jim Carrey and his new look. His spokesperson says he’s been working out a lot and lost quite a bit of weight especially in his face and that makes him look rather different.
He looked awfully different on Letterman the other night. He also grew his hair a bit in addition to losing all that weight.
It’s not Jim Carrey. It’s the guy who plays his role in the Dumb and Dumber prequel.
j.c.–I thought I was imagining things when I saw a commercial for Dumb and Dumberer:When Harry Met Lloyd.
I enjoyed Dumb and Dumber as much as the next person but a prequel? I didn’t think the movie was THAT great. :dubious:

I was just listening to Jim Carrey on Howard Stern, and he’s not too thrilled about the prequel either. Apparently he had nothing to do with it and feels that they’re trying to suck his perfeormance dry without him.
Great interview, by the way!
Suck his performance dry?!?! He played an idiot. It’s not like it was some multilayered, heavily nuanced character. Jimbo needs to get over himself.
But it was a very memorable performance, dan. At least in some people’s eyes…looks the other way

I saw Dumb and Dumber in the theatre, and I enjoyed it. So there.
And yeah, Jim Carrey is looking kind of odd. I saw him on Leno (?) the other night and thought… jeeeeez he is looking kind of old.
Maybe it was the lighting.
I don’t know, but it looks like he’s had his eyes done.
That’s what I thought too,DeVena. Wonder if it’s true?
jinwicked–glad I’m not the only one who snorted Coke out their nose laughing at it in the theatres.

In that pic, he looks just like Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers!
Ugh-I HATED Dumb and Dumber with a passion. I remember my friend and my sister howling and I just wanted it to be over.
I saw him on Letterman and Conan tonight, and ya, did I ever think he looked different. I hope he reverts back to his Ace Ventura style
In Jim Carrey’s early career, he did standup comedy and impressions. In fact, he was well known as, “The kid with the rubber face.” His schtick wasn’t to just sound like other people, but to look like them. He has amazing facial muscle control, and can contort his features into about 20 different people that look astonishingly good.
That’s Carrey on the cover, being someone other than Jim Carrey.
