The current second Trump administration: a compendium of horrors

Every day, there are a few candidates to add to this compendium of horrors thread. The one I’m picking today may seem not quite a full horror, but for the likely innocent contractor who Dictator Don is charging a penalty and barring from bidding on future contracts (almost surely in violation of the Federal Acquisition Regulation), it is a horror.

See:

“The Rose Garden is completed, and far more beautiful than anyone ever had in mind when it was conceived of, decades ago,”

No Donny, no it isn’t.

Hmmm…let’s see… a profusion of flowers in full bloom v. a concrete slab–which is more beautiful?

Sorry, that’s too hard to figure out. Makes my brain hurt. /s

Not to put too fine a point on it, but …

ETA:

Random thought I had while looking at @DavidNRockies pictures. He’s remaking the white house to look more like Mar-a-Lago. I wonder if he’s charging people to sit on “his” patio.

Anyone know in what language does Mar-a-Lago translate to Wolf’s Lair?

I’m pretty sure that it translates to “Home of the Petty One Without Honor” in Klingon.

It is my hope that the next administration’s combined intelligence will exceed that of the Rose Garden’s blue cone.

Reuters: US military kills 11 people in strike on alleged drug boat from Venezuela, Trump says

So, my country is responding to alleged criminal activity involving two countries, neither one the United States, with an act of war. That definitely belongs in this thread.

Re my last post, the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, where the alleged drug criminals were supposedly headed, is Trump-friendly and disagrees with my categorization of today’s attack as a horror:

PM: US military should “kill them all violently”

If this next middle of the road sounding article is fair, it is in the Trinidad and Tobago national interest for PM Kamla Persad-Bissessar to suck up to Trump:

You know it’s only a matter of time before innocent people (fishermen, e.g.) who aren’t smugglers get blowed up real good.

Nah, they’ll all be declared collateral damage anyway. Death is the verdict that the United States military imposes for whatever crime it seems necessary.

Let me guess, probably a trillion billion doses of probably Fentanyl that we probably can’t prove because probably the ship is on the probably bottom of Caribbean.

L.A. Ruling Complicates Trump’s Threats to Send Troops to More Cities

As Democratic cities brace for possible military deployments, Democratic governors see in a lower-court ruling the potential for legal protections.

I invite you to read the opening clause in that subhead over, oh… 10 to 100 times. :face_with_raised_eyebrow: And ponder it.

“As Democratic cities brace for possible military deployments…”

These would be deployments of American troops in American cities against Americans.

“Braced,” meaning the cities don’t want these troops.

What the ever-loving fuck.

From the link:

Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois, a Democrat, responded defiantly Tuesday afternoon.

“When did we become a country where it’s OK for the U.S. president to insist on national television that a state should call him to beg for anything, especially something we don’t want?” he asked reporters in Chicago. “Have we truly lost all sense of sanity in this nation that we treat this as normal?”

Yes, Gov. Pritzker, we have.

Is there, anywhere, a list of the horrors of Trump and his minions? You know, one that is added to daily (or more often). Things like firing the heads of the CDC or CFPB, or the Bureau of Labor and Statistics or FBI agents and DOJ attorneys that worked on the January 6 shit show etc. I know the list would be very long but there ought to be one.

On first scan, I read ‘firing the heads’ as ‘firing squads’. Ordinarily, I’d just laugh at myself. But times aren’t ordinary.

‘Firing squad, it’s such an old-fashioned term but a beautiful term: firing squad, it sort of says “You’re fired” with different things in it.’ ~ DJT

Check out “What the fuck just happened today” for a website that keeps track of the daily horrors. One guy started it during T’s first maladministration and it’s been chugging along ever since.

ETA: Holy fuck. I was glancing down through today’s entries and came across this:

6/ The Trump administration is weighing a plan that would give Palestinians a digital land “token” in exchange for their property so Gaza can be redeveloped into luxury resorts and “AI-powered” cities. The 38-page proposal calls for the “voluntary” removal of Gaza’s 2 million residents, offering $5,000, rent and food subsidies to those who leave. The plan projects a fourfold return on $100 billion in investment funding and would place Gaza under U.S. control for at least a decade. (Washington Post)

In addition to what EddyTeddyFreddy mentioned above, this might be closest to what you want:

This does not cover Trump 45:

It also only covers Trump 47, but this thread you are now reading probably has some items the above missed.

You could also look at the Trump threads in the Pit, although I stay away.

For Trump45, there is a lot at my next link, but I do not see an easy way to consolidate the day to day overviews:

For more ideas, go to www.chatgpt.com and enter this prompt:

What web sites track Donald Trump’s misdeeds since approximately 2017 on a close to daily basis?

This is why I usually post administration atrocities in this thread. I think this thread gets more exposure to the overall Board. I’m guessing many people do not look in the Pit.
