Just another random Factoid of Horror. I heard on the news today that a pediatric clinical trial for children with brain cancer being conducted here in Canada will have to be cancelled. Why? Because it’s inter-linked with the one going on in the US, and the Orange Fuck pulled the funding, so the one in the US is dead along with, I’m sure, many children.

Is Pam Bondi smart enough to know this would happen when she took the job?
No.
But the much more important question is: does she have the integrity to assert the essential independence of the DOJ from the demands of the president?
To which the answer is also “no”.
The only saving grace is that there’s nothing Bondi can do to fulfill the demands of the orange lunatic, which basically amount to “arrest the people I don’t like”.
But in these waning days of crumbling American democracy, it may not be long before she can.
Maybe Bondi won’t have to order it, because Donald just nominated someone to do it for her:

The nominee is now, at her own suggestion, assigned to purging the Smithsonians of supposedly woke exhibits, such as the famous photograph of an enslaved man’s mutilated back So I don’t think Trump will have a problem with her.
If a U.S. Attorney wants to arrest someone, all they have to do is ask a the Trumpiest Trump-appointed judge, in the district, for a warrant. And then they just deliver the warrant to the nearest U.S. Marshalls office. Right? Or is thre grand jury piece mandatory.

When she took the job? No. She was idealistic and ready to go on a crusade for justice, starting with the Epstein files she had on her desk. And then she opened them and saw Donald Trump’s name all over them and the cover-up for his part in those numerous crimes became at least partially her responsibility.
Now that she has used government resources to cover up sex crimes against children, I would assume she’ll basically do anything immoral, unethical or straight up illegal that is asked of her. But who knows? Maybe some day she’ll be disgusted by Trump groping her or something along those lines and she’ll quit. I wouldn’t count on it though. She’s seen the real Trump and stayed onboard. She’ll do as she is told.

I understand people not wanting to click over to Trump’s little social media platform for any reason whatsoever, but the totality of that particular post is as chilling and horrifying as any other from him that I’ve seen.

She was never idealistic. Have you forgotten how she first got into Trump’s good graces? She took a $25,000 contribution to her campaign fund from Trump then suddenly decided not to prosecute Trump University in Florida.
