The Dasani marketing blitz, or Coke can bite me

Reverse Osmosis is a pretty sophisticated process. I have no idea why so many of you detest the idea that tap water can be purified, flavored and sold. Further, I have never seen Coke insinuate that their water has anything to do with springs. The name isn’t “Mountain Dasani” or “Dasani Springs”… the Dasani webpage mentions upfront that this is purified water, plain and simple. It’s all in your mind…

That said, I find it ironic that this is the same company that pushed a culture of drinking soda with everything, sandwiches, pizza etc… made gazillions out of it, and are now marketing water at McDonalds as a healthy alternative to soda!

If I want purified water, I can use my Brita filter pitcher. Maybe it’s not as pure as reverse osmosis, but it’s good enought for me and a lot cheaper.

Nah, it makes perfect sense. They’re just selling Coke without the syrup or CO[sub]2[/sub].

I prefer perverse osmosis, but am too wiped out today after a drive to Laredo to come up with something clever to describe it. Some help, please.

friedo: sorry for the waspish reply. Over-tired, I think. The point of the posting was my irritation with the market saturation, not the bullshit from another mega-corp lying to us by omission.

I tried, but the people at Tootsie Roll threatened to sue my ass off for copyright infringement.
