I have now been married for just over a week. So far, I find I like it.
We didn’t get the outdoor ceremony we wanted, due to an outrageous thunderstorm forecast for the afternoon, but it was still beautiful and everything else was wonderful. The music, the flowers, the food - all even better than we had expected. We were able to get outside for some photos before the rain started, and the thunder and lightning made for a nice dramatic end to the day. So many of my family were able to make the trip and it was great to be able to see them again. My Grandmaman couldn’t travel (she’s 95 and not very strong), so we played a video of her reading Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, in French, on a laptop so she could be a part of it anyway. Thank goodness for waterproof mascara!
This is the ceremony - my face was aching by the end of the day because I just could not stop smiling. Here we are cutting our delicious cake, made for us by a friend of the family.
It was the best day ever. I can’t wait to see what life brings us.
