I’m very close to convinced that Coulter is more a less a troll who sells books and appearances by saying the most outrageous thing that she can think of, regardless of whether or not she actually believes any of it.

You must not know the same people I do. I know lots of people, including myself, who finds her voice nails on a chalkboard. She seems to have an extreme version of the Northern Cities Vowel Shift, which I find abrasive. And curious in her case, since she has never lived in that region as far as I know.
Agreed. I do this every two years anyway, but I’m certainly not going to stop now.
I have been 100% convinced of this for many years, which is why I try not to rise to the bait. In her salad days, she also tried to trade on being an allegedly “hot” blonde as well.
So well put! David Brooks talks about this in his column today, although he also speculates that the country may have changed such that it doesn’t matter. If so, I will be sad–but I will still be proud of Democrats for doing such an awesome job one last time by the old rules.
Huh. Well, I guess I won’t say it going forward – but, no, I don’t recall having heard that before. (I’ve heard people who vote for Hillary Clinton express dislike for her voice, but I don’t remember folks who voted against Sarah Palin saying the same.)
Believe it. And Trump does the exact same thing. Sure he’s a bigot, but he would recommend ending the border patrol and taking all the Syrian refugees if he thought he could win the election that way. Troll.
On the voice thing, to me both Palin’s and Clinton’s voices sound fine conversationally, or when addressing a small-to-medium room or quiet audience. It’s when they try to “project” for a large or noisy venue, in front of the TV camera, that my ear protests (some times, not always).
I think that, with Palin, they’re so put off by the content that they never get around to complaining about her voice. That’s true for me at least. As irritating as her delivery is, it’s a distant second to the content.
And just so no one thinks that it’s a gender thing for me, I think Michelle Obama is a good speaker.
I’m watching Hillary talking right now in a campaign stop in Harrisburg. It looks like a relatively small room. I think she sounds more natural. Her voice is extremely hoarse right now, but that’s understandable.

Unfortunately, as NPR noted last night, Hillary hasn’t had an actual press conference in 200+ days. Although he says stupid/offensive/wrong things when he does, at least Trump is more accessible to reporters.
This clause nullifies everything else in the amendment. Freedom of the press is constitutional right being exercised whenever you run an ad.
While we’re so busy condemning Donald Trump for being an ignoramus, someone might want to fight some ignorance among Democrats in Congress and explain to them what a press is and what freedom of the press involves.
Perhaps, to save time, they could simultaneously explain it to the four members of the Supreme Court who disagree? Since after all it’s an issue of simple ignorance, not an honest difference of interpretation, after all.
So has there been a post-convention bounce for Hillary yet, or is it still too soon? I’ve not seen anything in the news.
