They reunited Hal and Kate as well as Eidra and Stuart at the end of Season 3, and I didn’t really like either move. The way they had Kate dramatically run back to Hal seemed out of character. And I’m not even sure I like Eidra and Stuart as a couple. I think they were trying to paint her as someone fighting her feelings for him, but it sure felt like she just didn’t like him all that much. Taken together, it really feels like the writers just reverted to the Season 1 status quo because they just didn’t want to deal with this romantic shit anymore.
Seconded.
Thirded. Really didn’t think s3 was up to the previous two.
Thanks for the discussion!
In seasons 1 and 2 the plot was farfetched but at least plausible, but in 3 it really strains credulity, especially the subplot with the Russian submarine. I didn’t follow why MI6 agent Callum gets all of the info about the superweapon on the sub and then doesn’t tell anyone except his girlfriend.
The way that Hal and the President reacted when Kate sussed out what had happened suggested that it is real and it is big trouble.
If that’s true, i feel bad for them.
Yes, Hal saying “she knows” to President Penn is pretty suggestive.
I was unhappy with season 3. I was watching the show for the political intrigue, not as a romantic comedy. I guess i still enjoyed it, but it was really disappointing compared to the first two seasons.
If that’s true, i feel bad for them.
I’ll bet they were acting.
I loved it. I don’t typically nitpick shows. If I like the characters, and the dialog, it’s enough for me. Sure, I recognize plot holes and inconsistencies, but I’m not looking for perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed the season. Keri Russel is a delight to watch, and the addition of Bradley Whitford was a stroke of casting inspiration.
