The police have found her head, in a bag, apparently with no sign of blunt force trauma. The “accident” story seems to be breaking down rather spectacularly.
I’m beginning to think that maybe it wasn’t just an accidental death.

It has been confirmed that the head found bears no sign of blunt force trauma or fractures.
Madsen has stopped cooperating with the police.
Madsen himself does not appear to feature in the torture-murder videos found on his computer. They are however, still considered to be recordings of real murders.
The torso found had a number of stab wounds, some in the chest area but mostly in the genitals.
Madsens DNA is now being checked up against unsolved murders in the rest of Scandinavia.
The police just found a saw. It has not yet been analysed. Arms still missing.
This was all over the Swedish papers in the weeks after it broke, and the details that came up back in August (and the ones that Grim Render listed) are pretty much accurate. Hadn’t read that they’d found Wall’s head, but had read about the stab wounds on the torso.

I guess this comment was from a few weeks back, but what on earth does that mean?

Seems quite clear to me. The fact this stuff exists and sells means that some people, probably mostly men, like to watch it.
The entire MRA InCel movement is about the idea that men have a right to the amount and kind of sex they decide they want. Millions of men apparently subscribe to at least the milder forms of that thinking.
Lasciel’s point was that when you put those two ideas together you get guys like Madsen. Who think their right to sexual satisfaction extends to extracting torture out of unwilling women.
It’s at least plausible to think that increasing availability of torture porn and increasing amounts and severity of InCel thinking will lead to more Madsens. Which is not a good thing.
You’re assuming that the cause of death was CO poisoning. So far, there’s only Madsen’s claim for that. He has also claimed that she died from blunt trauma to the head, and that turned out to be a lie.
While AFAIK CO poisoning is easily determined in an autopsy, I don’t know how long after the death it’s possible to determine it. I guess we’ll know in a little while.

The charges against Madsen have now been filed. There was some question about whether he’d be found mentally competent, but he was found to be able to stand trial.
The charges include premeditated murder, indicating that they think he planned it in advance. Also defiling a corpse, and “non-intercourse sexual offences which are extremely dangerous”. As well a two aggravated breaches of maritime health and safety law. The prosecutions is asking for life in jail, followed by indefinite containment. Court psychiatrists have also noted that containment may be required for Madsen.
Are they expecting they’re going to have to keep his undead corpse “contained” somehow?
Life imprisonment in Denmark isn’t for anywhere near life unless you’re in your 70’s already.
