I want a stop watch with a vibrate function.

I want to be able to set it to count down a specific unit of time and then vibrate when it lapses.

Yes, it’s called a cell phone.

Vonage, and probably other VOIP systems, has something like this, in that your voicemail is recorded as an mp3, which you can download or have emailed to you.

Jott is a free service that does this for US phone numbers; I used it quite happily when I lived there.

As others have said, US cell phones (from the major carriers, at least) can be texted as long as you know the correct email address.

Unfortunately for us, Larry, I have yet to get email working with a Canadian cell (Bell, Rogers).

It worked for me. Bell mobility to a Gmail account.
