I think we did this once before, but since I just found a nifty BMP of Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” to use as my WIN98 desktop background, I was wondering what everyone else was using as theirs.
I have a photo on my desktop that I took on vacation. It is a pelican in flight, silhouetted against a sunset over the Gulf of Mexico. It takes me back to last week when I was on vacation…sigh…
My desktop used to be Betty Rubble and Fred Flintstone, ::ahem:: well, anyway. It wasn’t my idea, and I’m not the one who put it there. Now it’s a lake and a few mountains. I’m not sure but I think there might be a lighthouse in there somewhere.
Hey Euty, did you get it from wallpapers.com? That’s where I got my Van Gogh “Starry Night” desktop wallpaper.
Of course I’ve since changed it to a scene from Looney Tunes “Rabbit Fire” where Daffy Duck is dressed as Bugs Bunny and vice versa trying to confuse Elmer Fudd about what season it is.
Ive got an aerial photo of my house which is really cool - I think I can see myself in the garden.
Right now I have a montage of geckos, but I am looking for something new. Van Gogh sounds like a nice change of pace. Where did you find it?
I usually have something from some art museum website…Paul Klee, Gustav Moreau, Odilon Redon…Boecklin’s ISLE OF THE DEAD is nice and peaceful.
For the past few weeks, however, I’ve had a portrait of Ghoulardi. Underneath it says “Cool it.”
This is a good place to find pleasant wallpaper:
Currently, I’ve got an abstract, yarn-looking picture entitled, (apparently, now that I check) sowing. Blue and yellow overall. I’ve got lots and lots, infact, it’s probably about time to change . . .
Right now I have a frame grab from the TV show “Kindred: The Embraced”. It’s the main character, Julian, looking out the window of his front door. The glass has an etching of a wolf on it & the eyes line up with Julian’s.
This GORGEOUS picture of my little baby neice.

Go on, look- it’ll make you smile, I guarentee!

Currently, I have a massive picture of my favorite Dragon Ball Z character, Piccolo, his turban and cape blowing in the wind, while he blasts someone. It’s very good wallpaper for work, where I frequently feel like blasting someone.
Oh yeah, he’s green and he has pointy ears and a blue tongue. Love that guy.
Copy of the wallpaper that’s hanging in the …
haunted mansion at Disneyland
oooooooh! hahah!
A girl
I have this picture that I took as mine.
But I think I’m going to dabble around in photoshop and make a new one.
I change mine every couple of months, every couple of weeks if I spend enough time on the computer to get sick of it easily.
Right now it’s the Survivor theme, which should be changed right away. I haven’t had the time.
My favourite one was the Etch-O-Sketch theme. It was all I could do to NOT shake my moniter. I also often have a Star Trek theme. I haven’t seen the movie Pitch Black, but the desktop theme for it was pretty good too.
I get all of mine at Tucows Themes.
Plain old black.

This place has a wealth of wonderful desktop images. From tranquil landscapes to some goregeous fantasy art.
I change my desktop daily and I’ve got my current one from here.
MC Escher’s Relativity.
I grab something from NASA’s Astronomy Photo of the Day. Every once in a while I go find a new one.
Now if the [img] tag worked we could really do it like the last time
Mine was posted by Ursa Major in a thread started by Silo over at FFF.
