I love the pet quirks idea! Makes Monday a little less blurf
-Cats chasing tails- check
-Cats on bathroom watch- Check. I am convinced Little Orange Cat thinks I’m going to fall in, or am getting my tail in it by sitting like that, or something. She is SOOOO concerned when I am on the toilet, lol.
-The puppy’s only quirk so far seems to be eating absolutely anything and everything on the ground outside. Poop, rocks, sticks, dirt…wtf? He has a variety of chew toys and chew sticks/bones, so it’s not a teething thing. I am hoping it’s just a puppy thing and he’ll outgrow it, 'cause it’s hard to encourage him to poop at the same time he’s eating the leftovers from someone else. >.<
Oh, and I read somewhere online that cats don’t like sweet things, which confirms my notion that Murphy isn’t really a cat. She will beg for…and eat…anything from ice cream to sweet cream cheese to pudding to cake. I’ve rarely caught her sneaking food, but one time was memorable because she waited until I was concentrated on the computer screen and stealthed up and started noshing quietly on my doughnut!! I actually could HEAR her munching on it. It was hilarious.
And Dresden rolls on the dusty cement outside, and in the dirt, like a dog. Not indoors, just outdoors.
I think we never had cats. I think they’re dogs in fuzzy disguise.
One of my cats, Rocky, has a serious foot fetish. He doesn’t just want to sniff your feet; he wants you to rub him right above the tail with your foot. He prefers foot treatment to hand treatment.
One of my cats doesn’t like milk or meat, like most cats do, but for some reason, he likes the taste of lemon cupcakes, banana bread, potato chips, and cigarettes.
(We don’t actually give him any of these things. He’s just found them around and likes the taste.)
How about weird numan tricks: the “narrator voice” inside me now has a North Country accent - I just watched 6 Eccleston episodes in a row. Now I am going to watch some Law and Order to get my Noo Yawk accent back
My older dog washes her toys in her water bowl. She’s not vey good at it, since she can’t actually see what she’s doing (she dunks them in, turns them in her mouth, dunks the next bit, and so on - water everywhere). I think it’s pretty clever, she cut out that middle step of licking the toy clean and then drinking to clean her tongue.
Also, both my dogs pick berries - very neatly, just the berry, none of the plant. It’s annoying when I am trying to pick from the same bush.
Yes! According to USGS we’ve only had about 30 earthquakes today so far, none of them discernable. I am very happy!! And now that I’ve said THAT…<waits>
Oh, and Mouse has discovered paper towels.
They are his favorite thing, apparantly. Judging by how he shakes, rips and tears those apart, I feel sorry for any REAL mouse he gets hold of!
For a while, our retriever mix had a phase of blowing bubbles in her water dish. The chi can walk on his two back legs, and from time to time, he’ll run on just the two front legs.
Had a giggle at the doctor’s office today. One of the phones at the reception desk had its handset cord so snarled up that when someone answered it, they picked up the whole thing and the phone was dangling with about two inches of slack in the cord.
Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and havin’ dindin brought to me. Steak sammich and fries from a little hole in the wall place that makes really good steak sammiches. OYKW has had him a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for one for several days, so he called me at irk to say he was pickin’ 'em up for tonight. YUM!
In other news, it’s rainin’. It’ll pour, slack off, stop and start all over again. In about an hour we should have some really heavy bands of rain, so I made the decision not to drive to Cordele. I don’t like drivin’ in heavy downpours so I’ll send a nice little sympathy note to my friends instead.
Howdy all,
Had a blurfy busy day. Took my computer geek in for emergency dental surgery, had tooth removed and about a pound of infected stuff. I’m Kinda surprised that his wife left him at home like that, poor guy hasn’t eaten a real meal since lunch Saturday. This all took less than three hours.
Still supervising a house remodel for a friend as well, he has a dog named Cat but she is pretty normal so I have nothing to add.
Work is driving me crazy. My boss wants me to upload something to our website for another company. I can’t find the webhost info I need. I swear I’m just going to use Dropbox and be done with it. This place is so disorganized and computer illiterate sometimes that it makes me scream.
My childhood dog - a miniature poodle and an all-around swell pooch - taught herself to do this too when she’d accompany us on blackberry-picking excursions. Very dainty.
Howdy! Last week went by in a blur of inventory counts and career orientation reviews so what did I miss?
As for this week so far so good. As of about 4 hours ago I am officially a US permanent resident : happy dance : so that is a big source of stress off mymind.
LibbyCat is weird she loves mr ems stinky feet when he comes home and takes his work boots off. She rubs on them and purrs and wants to be touched. If he flings his socks at her she nuzzles up on them acts like she is on catnip. Which she does not like. She will, also bury herself in the pillows on the spare bed but will leave her butt sticking out. She will lie on her back in the middle of the floor asleep and not move for an hour however if you ask her if she is dead she will flick her tail 3 times to let you know she isn’t but will remain asleep. She also snores.
mmmmmms yay for the permanent US residency. I know you were goin’ through a lot tryin’ to obtain it.
The pet quirks are entertain’ me. Good steak sammich and fries for dindin. No snuggle though cause OYKW has some paperirk stuff to deal with tonight so he went back to his place. Poor thing. ‘Tis rainin’ large but I’m inside and dry.
My previous cat, Felix, was fond of sleeping with his head stuffed into one of my shoes (didn’t do this with my husband). He was also a snorer, which was a problem if he was sleeping on my pillow.
