It hasn’t really been a terrific week, and yesterday was quite an awful work day. No job should make you feel sick to your stomach and make your heart slam in your chest, but mine does. I wish something would open up so I could get the hell out of here.
In other news, my MiL was hospitalized (AGAIN) on December 31st. Turns out in addition to her GI issues (bleeding, vomiting, unable to eat), she had pneumonia. She’s been in there all this time, but in a couple of days, they’re going to release her to an assisted living place. She can only be there for three weeks, because that’s all Medicare will cover and her insurance doesn’t cover it. She is far too weak to go home and since all this crap started last June, hasn’t been taking care of herself, taking the requisite meds, and eating. So, her health just continues to decline.
I don’t know what we’re going to do after her time runs out at the assisted living place. I know she wants to go home, but she can’t. We can’t go there, we have our own house and the dogs to look after. Plus, we work long hours, so who would care for her during the day.
She can’t come to our place; again we work, we have stairs, big rambunctious dogs, and we’re just not set up to take care of her.
Fingers crossed that this time she will become well enough to go back to living on her own.

In funny news, some guy at work tried asking me out. Um, my wedding ring is quite prominent. I told him I was flattered, but quite married.
It seems that so many Dopers have friends or family members in the hospital. Hugs all around from me.
I’m at school again. I’ve finished most of my work, so I’m slacking off and hoping not to get caught.

Still alive, but hurting. Before I got that one spinal disk replaced, I knew there were others needing attention, and right now, well, they’re getting attention. I will be feeling extra stabby on Friday as bright and early, they’re doing a nerve test that involves sharp needles and electric shocks.

The nerve I pinched last summer moving here has decided to be pinched again. It’s in my neck and my left arm hurts so much. Heavy duty NSAIDS haven’t kicked in yet. Last time it was incredible painful for over a month, but I was packing and moving and didn’t get on NSAIDS for over three weeks. I hope this time it gets better much sooner!
I was moving equipment into my new lab… my husband calls it my “hypochondriac moving illness.” Ha. Ha. Ha. Funny boy.

Ok, there’s been a quite odiferous ummm… odor around heah all day. Smells kinda like a skunk. I now know the culprit. 24 55 gallon drums of insecticide exploded in large and in charge Cordele, Jawja early this mornin’. Due to low cloud cover the smell has extended over several counties. ICK! It’s not as bad now as it was earlier but it still smells sorta skunky outside.
That’s the gross south Jawja news of the day.
