All of TyCobb’s posts to the SDMB to this point have been pretty silly, but this is still not the same as calling TyCobb himself silly (or worse); there is always the possibility he will come to realize the error of his ways and post something not-silly. I admit I’m not terribly sanguine about that, but I suppose one should cling to hope and resist despair and all that.
Really, I thought I was being pretty lenient with old TY; if someone told me a Pit thread would result from those two threads, I would have expected it to be along the lines of "What’s wrong with the stupid mods that they can’t even recognize a troll when they see him? Why wasn’t TyCobb banned, his computer hacked into, his bank account crashed, and his legs broken? The mods around here have totally lost it! :mad: "

I’m with Oakminster. *TyCobb must be eliminated to protect what’s left of the SDMB gene pool. And rather than breaking his legs, remove his nutsack to protect what’s left of the world’s gene pool. We didn’t get to Phelps in time; let’s not make the same mistake here.

Does anyone want to take book on how long it will be until a Pit thread is opened protesting the closure of the “STFU” thread?
I was tempted to do so myself, not as a pitting, but as a question about moderation. Shouldn’t the STFU thread have been moved to the bbq pit, not closed?
I suppose it could have been moved. Unfortunately, all the GD Mods happened to be away from their keyboards, this morning, so it went on quite a while before a staffer caught it. Given that TyCobb does not seem to actually participate in the threads he starts, moving it here would have been more an exercise in letting the TM wax facetious at an absent target than an actual Pitting. If some Pit Mod wants to say they’ll accept the thread, I guess we could move it over here and re-open it to see how many bad jokes it could collect before he gets himself banned and we wound up closing the thread, anyway.
