The Dresden Files: Ghost Story

My wife, a Catholic, always buys the KJV version.

Not a wizard, but a sort of hedge witch is probable. Not all of them have limited skill, either.

Yeah, I’m thinking more along the lines of someone who has got an extremely scientific brain being tuned to magic. Maybe some sort of techno-wizardry? When he had his Bob-flashlight I’m wondering if he had done anything special there.

…and I don’t remember, who made the ghost radio?

Seriously people…have any of you ever heard of Joseph Campbell??? The Hero’s Journey? Monomyth??

Here is the link…If you want I can lay out each step before the most current, to specific scenes in other books.

Read a little about it and then realize that it is only gonna get better from here on in. You have to realize that Harry finally belives in “free will is the path to happiness” now. Lets see him use it to make the world a better place

The Missing Link.

I think that every one of the novels is a Hero’s Journey in its own right, with each one being another step in the Hero’s Journey that is the entire Dresden Files series.

Campbell points out that humanity really only has about 7 archetypical stories and that all stories told are based on at least one of those archetypes. The Hero’s Journey is probably the most popular because everyone can project themselves into the role of the hero and say, “Yeah, I can do that”. There’s a reason that one of the oldest recorded storiesin mankind’s history is a Hero’s Journey.

I just finished it and mostly enjoyed it,though I confess to skimming through the battle sequences. Early on I did imagine that…

…we were meeting a new character who would turn out to be Harry’s previously-unknown son

?..but that seemed to fizzle out.
