The Dulles' connection to United Fruit Co.

In some of my history classes at college, I heard of the Dulles’ conneciton to United Fruit Co., with said connection being one of the reasons that the US was so ready to overthrow Arbenz.
In retrospect, all I can remember is that JF Dulles had been an attorney for UFC. Perhaps not even one of *their * attorneys, but just a lump in a legal company that represented them. (I can’t remember)
While listening to the liberal professor espouse the evils of the Dulles family, and US imperialism, it all seemed plausible. I am not averse to some military-industrial conspiracy theory, but, now, I am thinking that perhaps his role was not enough of a connection to even get him to care what happened to UFC, let alone go to bat with Eisenhower on their behalf.
So, the short version of my question is: Did Dulles have any stronger connection to UFC than just representing them in some court case? Some connection that would give him a reason to push for an invasion, other than for the benefit of a past employer?
thanks,

UFC was a former client of JF Dulles’s law firm and Allen Dulles served on UFC’s board of trustees.

Thank 'ee.
New question-is a board of trustees the same as a board of Directors?
