Don’t be dissin’ the egg slicer either. That is a cool and nessesary implement to get perfectly sliced eggs. With my fat fingers its hard to the the ends sliced to the specified width. But with the egg slicer I get a perfectly even Hard-boiled egg and mustard sandwich.

I have an egg slicer like this. It was very cheap, and the only thing I use it for it potato salad. I don’t like to use my little food processor for eggs for potato salad, because the eggs are too small. I also hate to cut them up by hand, because it takes too long.

Oh, and speaking of gadgets, anyone else have a Salad Shooter?? My MIL gave me one some years back, and I tried to use it. But it clogs so easily, and everything is cut on a curve, except for the nubby bits which won’t cut. It’s a pain in the butt to clean and store. If it hasn’t gone to Goodwill yet, it will before I move.

I had a friend who got one for a wedding gift and gave it to me because she never used it. I only use it when I’m making a big salad, stir fry or soup and need to cut up a lot of carrots or cucumbers. I tried to use it to make shredded lettuce once, and ended up with a tiny pile of very soggy lettuce mush. Oops.

Speaking of cotton candy, I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed that! When I was a kid, cotton candy was this stuff that was like angel hair. It was warm and melted instantly upon contact with any part of the mouth, face, or hand. This modern stuff is almost hard candy by comparison. It just ain’t the same.
