The Enchirito is back! The People Rejoyce!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Other than the Bellbeefer, which I didn’t like, the vast majority of my Taco Bell selections would come from just these items, would they all be available at the same time—the tostada and the enchirito keep disappearing).

Remember when the cashier’s stations were under bricked arches? And they took your order with a grease pencil on a board hanging from the arch? And you had to specify spicy or mild for each?

Taco Bell was great. The food was a lot better then too.

*In my time, the sandwich was called the Bellbeefer and the bean paste and cheese was called frijoles.

Yes, I think they went to frijoles and cheese at some point, but I distinctly remember “Pintos 'n Cheese”.

I also remember thinking that these options were fairly exotic.

mmm

They made it seem even more exotic with the pronunciation guide under every item. Buh-REE-toh! TAH-co! En-chi-REE-toh! Free-HO-leez! Lol. Spanish pronunciation guide in California, gotta love it.

Double Decker Taco please.

I wish Taco Bell would bring back Zantigo. I loved their food, and seeing their restaurants get turned into Taco Bells hurt my heart. Taco Bell bought 'em out in 1986. I’ve been unable to visit any of their remaining 4 restaurants, all of which are in the Twin Cities.

I’ll settle for them bringing back the chili cheese burrito.

Wait, sour cream???

You bet. Their special ‘low fat’ sour cream they’re always going on about.

I really hate the “low fat” sour cream or “low fat” mayonnaise fast food chains now use in order to make their calorie counts look smaller, it tastes like crap, would rather just take the extra 40 calories and get the full flavor stuff.

I’ve replaced sour cream with yogurt and actually prefer it. If I buy sour cream and use 1/4 of it, the remainder eventually gets thrown out. We always have yogurt on hand and it’s never wasted.

Yes, but that’s not exactly an option at Taco Hell, is it?

I guess not? Reading this thread out of curiosity, I don’t eat fast food much.

It’s interesting that they would run that poll with their customers because the only things I ever liked at that place are things they got rid of.

In my experience, this is true of every business I’ve ever dealt with. I often suspect that businesses in general have spies watching my every move. How else do they so unerringly know which of their products I really like, so that they will know exactly which ones to discontinue?

Yeah, looking at the Taco Bell menu now, pretty much everything added since 1990 can be eliminated, so far as I am concerned.

Especially those chalupas and gorditas. Those are gross.

Yes! I thought I was just being paranoid, but I see I am not alone! We must resort to cash only and even disguises if necessary.

The biggest complaint I have about Taco Bell is the drinks. Give me Coca-Cola products. Pepsi products are gross.

Given that Taco Bell and Pepsi are owned by the same corporation (Yum! Brands–their punctuation, btw) I’m sorry to say your request is unlikely to be fulfilled.

I know that it’s not likely. However, Pepsi hasn’t owned Yum since 1997. They just have an ironclad exclusive contract.

Yes, I misstated the exact relationship, but we’re both right in that it’s not there or going to happen soon. (Although personally, I can drink either and constantly bemoan that none of the fountain machines offers the caffeine-free variation of the non-diet cola.)
