The Enterprise Speculation And/Or Wish List Thread

Well, we’ve got to have something to do during the long hot summer.

I wish T’Pol would start wearing something other than that catsuit all the time.

I wish Mayweather’s character would develop, even if it’s just a little.

I wish Archer would stop calling his officers by their first names. (It reminds me too much of Janeway.)

For next season, I’ll speculate…

…that Malcolm might act on his feelings for T’Pol.

…that Trip and Archer will get into a huge fight (with each other).

…that Phlox will have a crisis of some kind.

…that Hoshi will really kick some alien butt.

Come on in and post away.

Wish: that the series would drop any use of the transporter.

Speculate: the Suliban are revealed to be some future alien from another Trek series. You know, if they get enough genetic enhancements, they take on some final form we’ve seen before. Maybe even Borg (kinda makes sense).

Speculate: the Guardian of Forever will be used to save the crew from their cliffhanger.

Speculate: the Enterprise will leave a book about mobsters on some alien planet, then leave

I’d like to see Archer seduce some alien babes, and talk a few computers into destroying themselves.

Uncharted territory, y’know.

I wish that Kim Darby would come back for a combination of “Miri” and “True Grit” where she hires a one-eyed Archer to track down Rooster Kirk-burn so that she can do him one last time…TRM

Too, too funny!

I wish I can see more originals alien races. I wish we could see more about the birth of starfleet (perhaps encounters with other earth ships). I wish I see them fighting the klingon. I wish T’pol was my girlfriend (did I said that aloud… what a geek!!!).

I wish T’Pol would reverse those collagen injections.

Yeah, a lacey, white teddy.

So she and Archer could play a game of “Vulcan Love Slave”. On the Bridge. :o

Well, here’s to revealing myself as a huge uber-geek for ST:TOS.

It was clearly explained in A Piece of the Action that the USS Horizon was the ship that left the mobster book on Iotia.

:stuck_out_tongue:

  • Rick

Speculation: Hoshi drops by my apartment and we learn some “conjugations”

Also, Maybe Archer will meet the Horizon and her captain, Al Capone the XXI.

I wish they had never introduced the entire stupid concept of the Suliban. If they needed some good villians, but didn’t want to use the Romulans or the Klingons, I would have liked to see the Orions. Barely used in TOS, a lot of semi-canon backstory has been developed for them in various Trek novels.

More broadly, I WISH WISH WISH they had used the alien species shown however briefly in TOS, instead of making up yet another “alien species of the week”.

More broadly still, I wish they had made some minimal effort to stay within the bounds of the established pre-TOS canon, instead of the idiotic conceit of “the whole history of the galaxy has been changed by time travel, so let’s start over from scratch”.

I wish that they hadn’t established that Enterprise can just barely do warp 5, and then decided that the ship can get wherever it’s going in whatever amount of time the plot calls for.

I wish a vessel that has to cram a crew and all their equipment within a pressure hull didn’t have ridiculously wide corridors.

I wish, just to be wiseasses, they’d restored the original Klingons- no explanations, no excuses.

I wish…

That the actress that plays Hoshi would use some of her extensive stage fighting skills.

That Dr. Phlox would do more homeopathic medicine and that his patients freaked out more when he puts worms, etc. on them.

That Malcolm would be replaced by a larger-than-life muscular person who is really into fighting, weapons, etc. Although a “no explanation given” switch might be fun, the writers could always go with “a sentient alien joins Malcolm’s body and it results from the metamorphosis”… or simple “transporter accident”.

That Mayweather takes more of an interest in piloting… like we see him joyriding Shuttlecrafts.

This could lead to Mayweather and New Malcolm joining forces to mount a weapon onto a Shuttlecraft. Then, maybe Mayweather could have a useful role when Enterprise needs to take out something like a Klingon Battlecruiser.

I wish …

**We’ll see those Tellarites! We’ve met the Andorians, now let’s meet the Tellarites, one of the Founding Members of the Federation.

**More of Archer in his undies! LOL Or another sonic shower scene, perhaps?! Damn, but Bakula looks good, sorry.

**I’d like to see more of the TOS-era aliens as well; would love to see the Orions

**Get some of the other crew like Mayweather and Hoshi more involved in the stories–let’s find out more info on them too.

**I’d like to see more of those “renegade” Vulcans–I actually like the Vulcans, and like T’Pol too, though I’d like to see her in more traditional Vulcan garb sometimes (LOL I don’t need to see her in the catsuit, ya know? ;))

As to speculation on what will happen when the second season begins …

It sure looks like Archer’s stuck in the 31st century and that Enterprise is about to be toasted, but I seriously doubt that the ST PTB will let -that- happen. I’m beginning to lean towards maybe the Guardian of Forever, but don’t really know–I’ll really be anxious to see how this plot is resolved. I honestly hope that they’ll trash the Sulibans and the temporal “war” or whatever it is (ARGH), but guess I’ll just have to wait to see.

tarragon

Tellarites! Good one, tarragon. I hope it happens too. I can still remember Sarek telling someone in “Journey to Babel” that “Tellarites do not argue for reasons. They simply argue.”
I’d love to see a couple of them try to argue with T’Pol.

I wish I’d saved the link that a Trekkin’ friend sent me last year that led directly to a slide show of Archer in his undies (from the pilot episode). I think you would have enjoyed it. I certainly did.

I’d like to see the Grisellas, the species in hibernation that Picard chose to arbitrate a dispute in the Ensigns of Command.

And they should get rid of this idea that Hoshi can learn a language in 10 or 15 minutes. Almost as idiotic as the touchy-feely mindreading Troi they tried out at the beginning of TNG.

My wish is to see the guys (Archer, Trip, Malcom, and Merriweather) in their blue undies more often. Or shower scenes are good, too.

But really, I would like to see the Tholians (sp?).

Do you think that the person leading this temporal cold war might be a character we already know?

I wish they’d finally admit that Porthos is a robot. Or at least have people react to a beagle on a ship: “Whew! That’s some puppy funk in here, cap’n!” :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay…so Porthos is a mechanical mutt. But he eats cheese. Then he has indigestion. It must be gumming up his metal innards–is that it? Are Archer and Phlox keeping this little secret between themselves?
(Well, it’s a speculation thread.)
Come to think of it, we’ve never heard of or seen any evidence that the dog actually excretes. The Porthos-as-robot-dog theorists nearly have me convinced!

I wish:

-The show would explain how the crew of the NX-01 know about the Ferengi, when Starfleet won’t find out until Picard finds them in the NCC-1701-D

-The ship wasn’t so blatantly an Akira-class starship. The Daedalus-class was established in TNG and DS9 to be in the mid-22nd and was just begging to be used.

-The NX-01 crew didn’t already have forcefields and a beautifully functional transporter.

-Archer hadn’t already started his “Captain’s Star Log”.

-The episode “Dear Doctor” hadn’t come within micrometers of mentioning the Prime Directive. Tell me: could Enterprise scream I’M A SEQUEL any louder???

-I too would love to see some of the under-used TOS aliens.

-The person giving Silik orders is the deranged captain of the U.S.S. Relativity from Voyager (I can’t remember his name at the moment). That way, since we “saw” him in the 1st episode, the traditon of having a character from the previous series in the 1st episode of the newest will be continued.

-The entire show (or at least season 1) would “unhappen” (i.e. become the wrong timeline). I say this because of all the anachronisms, and the “historical liberties” taken by the writers and producers (I hate you Rick Berman!) .

I suspect:

-The season 1 cliffhanger will be resolved something like this: The Suliban’s 29th century buddies will suck Archer (and maybe Daniels) back to the “present” onto the Suliban ship so that Silik can kill Archer. Archer (and maybe Daniels too) make a daring escape and the timeline is restored.

I wish Malcolm would act on his feelings for Tripp.
I wish that Archer was more formal with his crew as well.
I wish Dr. Phlox would get angry just once.
I hope they confirm the idea that the shadowy guy from the future is actually from the Mirror-Mirror universe working to make that future come about.
I wish they’d explain why Archer has a picture of a space shuttle in his quarters among other vessels named Enterprise and explain why that shuttle is named Enterprise. That shuttle was named by trekkies. If it isn’t the Enterprise shuttle it’d be awfully silly to see Enterprise, Enterprise, Enterprise, Challenger, Enterprise.
I think this particular series isn’t even happening in the canon timeline that eventually begets Kirk and Picard. That’s how the current producers can take such liberties with history and the show.
