That’s something I think would be likely – that whatever can be about him is awkward but not provably criminal, he’ll just fight like hell anything that may embarass him because taking things personally is what he does. But OTOH mybe there’s evidence that people important not just for him but for the whole “rich schmucks getting away with shit” ecosystem are in too deep.
And of course, if you’re a Dem or anyone else who had an innocent (meaning plain business and not his criminal activities) relationship with Epstein, you might feel tempted to remain silent on the Files, because how do you prove it? It’s a useful brush, and the fact that Trump and Co. haven’t tried to smear their opponents with bits and pieces is interesting.
I also do genuinely think Epstein killed himself, or at least was provided with the means, and wasn’t murdered. That’s just too complicated.
