The Exciting Game With One Rule

In fact, Zeldar, after some research it appears you have broken the rule again.

Worse, I broke the rule myself in post #112. Mea culpa.

Hmm. I’m thinking something along the lines of comma use? But something more . . .
Well, I’m going to be away the majority of today, but this will be on the back boiler.

No more than two commas per sentence.

Is it no sentence inversion? I don’t know if “inversion” is the right word to use - for example, you can say “I ate cereal this morning” but not “This morning, I ate cereal.”

Does referring to one’s own post violate the rule?

What would be neat is if it had to do with the number of words in the post. Odd number okay; even number bad.

Let’s just see how this post fares…

You have broken the rule.

Otherwise, no one has hit on the rule yet.

Just re-stating for emphasis.

If I read your intent correctly, it is that we should continue as if this were a real thread dealing with real issues and not just a game.

That said, I just watched the latest episode of The Good Wife and it would appear their writers and creative staff got together and decided to try to get back to what has made this show good in the past, and to put it back on track before further damage could be done. Good job, so far. Fun plotlines.

You have broken the rule, twice.

I absolutely must go and wash clothes. I ought to be back in about an hour.

No run-on sentences.

How 'bout clauses separated from the body of the text by commas?

No, but you have broken the rule.

How about sentences over a certain number of words long?

Sorry, hon, that’s not it.

Wow and OMG, I am watching the first episode of the new “Cosmos”. It is gorgeous and wondrous and I am beside myself with delight. Giordano Bruno has just told Oxford, “Your God is too small!”

I bought an especially good wine for the evening’s viewing, and made my favorite dish. Wow. OMG. :D:D

I wanted to see that and now I’ve missed it twice!

You have broken the rule.

Don’t mention the rule.
