The FAWM (February Album Writing Month) Thread

I just signed upafter doing two NaNoWriMos and am feeling pretty excited about it. The basic premise is writing 14 songs in 28 days. It’s a much smaller group than NaNoWriMo with only 1073 participants last year.

So has anyone done this or going to do it this year?

I’m on it. I’ve been doing FAWM every year since 2006. There’s much more a sense of community about it than Nanowrimo, which is a good thing. I also do the 50/90 challenge (i.e. 50 songs in 90 days), which attracts a lot of the same crowd.

I’m just giving this a quick bump as it starts tomorrow. I’ve got my old recording equipment set up (a Fostex VF80, which is one of the most unintuitive things I’ve seen in a while). A couple index cards with ideas of what to write about and new strings on a couple of the guitars and mandolin.
