Gotta agree with Hentor. There’s no such thing as an easy game for us from here on out. Next week against Miami could end just as badly, because they’re even more desperate, and we are playing down to bad teams this season.
New England is a guaranteed loss, and we’ll probably lose to the Jaguars. If we give up anymore than that it will be very likely that Cleveland will take the division.
I’m less confident that we are playing down to bad teams. I think we are just a bad team. We’ve beaten only two teams with winning records this year (Seattle and Cleveland) and neither of those teams is very impressive. We’ve lost three games to teams with losing records (okay, Arizona is 5-5, but still…).
Well, tonight’s the night for your Steelers. I can’t imagine the Dolphins winning this one. They are just so completely demoralized at this point, I can’t imagine them getting their shit together enough to squeez a win out of any game.
Great Pats game last night, by the way. Did anyone happen to catch it?
Well, I’m off to the game…when you see the fans miserable in the pouring rain, think of me! If the Steelers can pull themselves back together and just pound Miami into the ground, it’ll go a long way towards making the cold rainy feeling go away!
Especially against a good team that lost to a weak opponent last week.
Though not a great game by the Pats. If the Steelers can catch them playing like that, the undefeated season could be over. (I continue to believe that the Steelers are much the most likely team to accomplish this.)
I’ve read that rather than do the normal procedure of removing torn up field before laying down the new stuff, they just throw new sod and grass over the old stuff, which then can’t take hold properly, which leads to… well, you see the results.
Not sure if it’s true, but that’s gotta be the crappiest field in the NFL.
Well, I put some money on the under (37.5) when I saw the weather reports, but I bet Pittsburgh -16 earlier, when I figured this would be a statement game after last week. Both still could be had if Pittsburgh wins in a 27-9 type game, but the window is small and I hate to give 16 points to anyone with weather/field conditions like that.
Edit: Of course I would give that up if Pittsburgh flat out loses, cause that’d be hilarious enough to be worth it.
The field is really awful tonight, and it is a hindrance for both teams. However, Miami is making some good progress on their first drive of the second half.
If the teams don’t score touchdowns, they had better get within range for a chip-shot field goal because there is NO way that anybody will ever get close at more than about 35 yards on this field, which is known for treacherous kicking conditions even on the best of days.
