Jesse gets powers and Wally be jelly. Flashpoint is still making itself felt but apparently it doesn’t affect Earth-2. Funny how Harry almost immediately realized that Barry had gone back in time to change things when they walked into the new speed room. Speaking of which, I kinda liked the old cosmic treadmill; I hope they still have it in storage.

This was rather a quieter episode, at least compared to the timeline-changing events of the last couple. Of course, compared to a typical Season 1 episode, this one was positively epic.

I think Wally is going to try to track down Dr. Alchemy to get him some of that sweet sweet Speed Force he’s craving.

A few points

  • Wally just isn’t stupid enough to stand in front of a car. I mean…he just isn’t. That was plain bad writing on a show I otherwise enjoy.

  • I thought that Zoom was the only one who could open portals from E2 to E1 (Barry can travel there but not open portals). I was confused by that last season, now I’m more confused

  • I love the chemistry between Barry and Iris

  • Draco vs Barry. Barry, buddy? Go to HR with three words “Hostile. Work. Environment.” and see how long Draco/Julian keeps doing crap like making you wait 26 seconds before you leave. Especially since Barry is almost certainly salary, not hourly.

  • Don’t like what I saw of Jesse Quick’s costume.

  • They made Magenta a ton more interesting than the comics have ever managed to do.

Cisco should be able to accomplish this as well, if he’s already on Earth 2.

Thinking some more about it … how did E2 Wells and E2 Jessie get from Earth 2 to Earth 1 last season? Was it through a portal that Zoom opened, or one that E2 Wells opened?

IIRC, Zoom sent him thru to steal Flash’s speed.

Does anybody else think, due to the law of conservation of characters, that Alchemy and “obnoxious lab guy” are almost certainly the same person?

But… but… their voices don’t match!

Anyhoo, once Magenta was talked down and the tanker returned to the river, it’s bizarrely irresponsible to not imprison her. What she was about to do - crush an entire hospital to get at one person who posed no real threat to her at that point - looks psychotic to me, and other metas were locked up for posing far lesser threats.

The portal that Harry and Jesse used to jump from Earth-2 to Earth-1 in this episode is the same portal that they used to jump from Earth-1 back to Earth-2 at the end of last season. It’s the same one that Barry and Cisco used to jump to Earth-2 the first time around. They did close it that time, but not before Zoom stuck his hand through fake-Jay’s chest. I forget how it got reopened again.

I think that’s a fake out.

My prediction is that Dr Alchemy is Wells from the Flashpoint universe, who somehow survived Barry changing the timeline again.

Heck, Alchemy could be Jesse from Flashpoint, and we’d still be conserving characters, or at least actors.

Yeah they seem to be telegraphing this.

I don’t know why it was so effective to me but the Flash hugging Frankie at the end seemed really really sweet and sad.

So far, the TV series has been pretty good about keeping metahumans’ “real names” consistent with the comics. Obnoxio’s name is Julian Albert, and the Dr. Alchemy of the comics is Albert Desmond – close enough?

Or vice versa. Alchemy seems to be tracking down everyone who had powers in Flashpoint and giving them the same powers in the new timeline.
