Heh. Unexpected Supergirl crossover! The Flash writers should have taken some tips from the Supergirl writers as I couldn’t help but think that the Patriarchy (in the form of Joe and Barry) kept trying to keep a good woman (i.e., Iris) down. C’mon, guys, would it kill you to admit that Iris has some competency in her chosen field of endeavor? Wally, at least, was supportive. I hope to see more team ups of the West siblings in the future.
Great to see Vibe in full costume. Is he going to be out in field more often? It would be a shame to waste that bitchin’ jacket.
At first I was thinking Iris was being so bold and taking such risks because she knows she’ll survive until May. Though that would go against their proof that the future isn’t fateful and can be altered.
Anyhow, I love Cisco-centric episodes. Always a good blend of heart and comedy.
Also, interesting little twist with Barry changing plans for Kid Flash to save Iris.
I don’t watch Supergirl anymore, what was the crossover?
When Vibe was fighting Gypsy, one of the alternate universes that they visited was the Supergirl universe (the offices of CatCo), where they freaked out Miss Teshmacher.
I loved last night’s episode. I think it may have been one of my favorite of the series. I know many of you don’t like H.R., but I really enjoy this iteration of Harrison Wells. Last night’s episode was funny, moving and had some decent action sequences. I think part of Iris’ recklessness stems from a defiance of fate. If I’m going to die I’m going to die on my own terms and not those dictated to me by ‘fate’. All in all, A+ for me.
HR is Abra Kadabra. He’s got the [del]drumstick[/del] wand thing going, they’re changing him from an attention-whore from the future to an attention-whore from a semi-oppressive parallel earth, etc. And the fact that he was trans-dimensionally blogging about his adventures when he knew he was facing death if caught shows how much an attention whore he is. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cisco’s last minute change of heart about fighting for HR was him being screwed with by Kadabra.
I hate] the idiotic “Keep one member of the West family out of the loop” plotline they keep reusing over and over. It always fails and always leads to a worse fallout than otherwise.
Why bother calling her Gypsy when her powers/costume had nothing to do with the character? Call her “Reverb” or something.
All that said, I loved most of this episode and Wally is really growing on me as a good addition to the cast.
I love H.R. too. Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes always have great chemistry, though I think I like this incarnation of their character interaction the best so far. It offers some interesting reversals and a lot of levity or Odd Couple-ness between them. I think I prefer that to the Father/Son relationship he had with other Harrisons. Also, it seems to galvanize Cisco’s character more, because like he said in this episode, he would always depend on Harrison, and now he knows H.R. depends on him.
It may be a good thing that Cisco’s powers are now leveling up. Since people waltz into their HQ whenever they feel like it (including Gypsy), it was good to see him do something to guard the place.
The crossover was great. Wonder what Supergirl’s reaction will be? When she has the late March crossover with Flash, will she ask Cisco “Was that you…” Although I would’ve expected this to go into Kara and Alex’s apartment, which would not have made them happy.
IIRC, at one point in this episode he mentioned having learned about the importance of a good diversion or distraction or whatever from a great stage magician.
This is not a spoiler, but a theory. I think someone will die who appears to look like Iris, and when that person is dead, we will be rid of a certain character whom I find very annoying.
