The Big Event has been officially acknowledged. On Legends, there was an extremely small lead-in to the crossover event, with Sara saying something to the effect of “2016 called, they need us.” Note that both Supergirl and The Flash are still showing their regular episodes on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, but Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow will be taking a break for the Great American Turkey Festival.
After Thanksgiving, the crossover begins. Episode titles, already previously announced, are:
[ol]
[li]Supergirl - “Medusa”[/li][li]The Flash - “Invasion!”[/li][li]Arrow - “Invasion!”[/li][li]Legends of Tomorrow - “Invasion!”[/li][/ol]
The crossover event is also going to be Arrow’s 100th episode, so you know there’s going to be something special planned for that series in particular. From the list, we can surmise that Supergirl is going to play out mostly like a regular episode, but then someone (probably Barry) is going to show up at the end to recruit Kara to help out with the alien invasion. The three other shows will have interconnected storylines, one leading to the other, with the aliens in question purported to be The Dominators.
Over on the Legends thread, Declan asked:
I think you probably won’t need to catch up on the other shows to enjoy the crossover, as long as you have passing familiarity with the principals involved. You probably don’t even need to watch the Supergirl episode, the way I think it’s been set up. (But why aren’t you at least watching The Flash. You know, time travel and all. :p)
The musical crossover is strictly between Supergirl and The Flash and is coming later in the season. I think that’s pretty much all anyone knows about the musical bits.
So, Flash had to enter an alternate universe to meet Supergirl. I assume that will happen again? Supergirl’s universe if filled with aliens and the US has a female president. Well, presumably female. In Supergirl’s universe it’s all about alien rights and fighting xenophobia, etc. In Flash/Arrow’s universe, it’s mostly about dealing with metahumans, with little or no mention of aliens.
Think they’ll attempt to combine the two universes, or keep them separate?
Actually I watch all of them, just that I PVR everything else, and watch legends, and then binge on the other shows, cause I really hate that waiting for next week thing.
It may be easier to combine universes this season than last, since from a practical standpoint, all shows, including Supergirl, are now filmed in Vancouver.
I hope we get to see Cisco and Winn in the same room. They’re practically twins. If I closed my eyes, I’m not sure I could tell which was which by their voices.
We keep hearing rumors of Booster Gold. Could this be a set-up for it?
Dominators were originally a Legion villain.
Dominators are also an off-shoot of Green Lantern’s Oans.
Remember in a recent ep of…um…Legends, maybe? there was a wedding-ring type box? What was in it?
a) Possibility 1: Legion Flight Ring? Needed for Booster Gold.
b) Possibility 2: Green Lantern ring (in Arrow, there were the constant “Coast City” and “Ferris Aircraft” references in the first 2-3 seasons. (Flash had a few as well). Could also be an Alan Scott ring. Green Lantern suddenly shows up in the CW-verse. Imagine the buzz from that.
What about the big fugly amulet that everyone wants in Legends? The only thing it even vaguely looks like is one iteration of Dr. Fate’s amulet, but IIRC the Amulet didn’t have any powers–only the helmet.
I’ve heard a rumor that they wanted (or got?) Neil Patrick Harris to reprise his role (from the animated episode) as The Music Meister. I want to believe.
IIRC, Doc’s amulet had the power of making the helmet more powerful, which would be even funnier: “it’s not useless; it’s just useless to everyone who isn’t Doc .”
The helmet was seen in a Constantine episode, which should be considered cannon given his appearance, played by the same actor, on Arrow last year.
There was also a brief shot in a bar at one point with someone (face unseen) wearing a jacket with “JORDAN” on the nametag. Wonder who that was supposed to be…
Alan would have to be hella old, given his son was super old in that recent Legends ep set in the 80’s. If they bothered to connect the characters properly anyway… Granted postCrisis he was trapped with the JSA in that whatever that kept them from aging, and then got additionally de-aged upon becoming Sentinel, so they have things they could draw from even with geriatric Obsidian.
I’m guessing Harold or his dad Larry Jordan aka Air Wave. They’re going for big names, and what Jordan could be a bigger name than Air Wave? Personally, I’d go for Larry, because Harold can transform his body into radio waves, but Larry? He can roller-skate on telephone wires. And how cool is that?
They could always swap it and Alan is Todd’s grandson (by adoption or sperm donership or something.
You may have already seen the four individual posters (one for each show) promoting the crossover. Someone on Reddit has already made a seamless version of all four posters: http://i.imgur.com/SfN8qLS.jpg

The CW has just released a spoilerrific 2-minute trailer for the crossover. It’s about a spoiler-filled as a movie trailer, so I’m putting the Youtube link in spoiler tags, just in case:
